What do you think about third party candidates? I've always been an Independent...now a Constitutionalist. Is there a point voting for them when the electoral vote decides all? I'd like to think if all Christains voted for a Christain candidate...we might turn this thing around....but I hear people at church freaking out about Trump and Hillary. Why are people so scared to consider a third option? Is it pointless?

Short term, yes, it is pointless.

If by some miracle a 3rd party got a President elected, he would have no
support, and be a lame duck and most likely out in four years with nothing
to show for it.

We need to break the hold that the Republocrats have over the system by
getting the old guard out of office, from state congresses to governors to
the US Congress.

Problem: Our country is imploding too fast. We will be bankrupt and
fully socialist or under a dictatorship before we could change things.

At this point in time IMHO voting third party amounts to a protest vote against the two party system.

You are right. We Christians deserve better than the two parties that take our vote for granted. The Dems think most of us are toothless hillbillies and deplorables. The Pubs give us lip service, promise they will govern as conservatives and then don't .

Again in my humble opinion we Christians should separate ourselves from both parties, form our own Christian caucus. Develop our Christian plank and make no concessions.

We have some Christians vote Dem because they like the plank of helping the poor, no adventurism with military power, want to protect the environment. Some Christians vote Rep due to the moral decay of the country and wanting to protect human life in the womb.

All of the above are historical and Biblical Christian ideals. Yet we split our conscience because we "have to choose" one or the other party. Notice I did not mention the usual tripe of one party is for smaller government and the other for larger government? That's because it is the goal of both parties to make all Americans dependent on government. To me that is saying we must choose the golden calf over God.

I think we can do better than what we are doing now.

Hyperbole alert: "we should take a flame thrower to the two party system."
