I agree with your post with this one exception here. Concerning verses 4-8. This is not speaking of the Seventh day Sabbath. Rather this is speaking of the "rest", promised when they entered the land of their inheritance.
Ex 33:14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and
I will give thee rest.
Deu 3:18 And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.
19 But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;
20 Until the LORD have
given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the LORD your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.
21 And I commanded
Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest.
22 Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you.
Deu 12:9 For
ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.
10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he
giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
They did not enter in, because the faithless were disinherited from the land.
Num 14:7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.
8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
10 But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.
11 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and
how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?
12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and
disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.
13 And Moses said unto the LORD, Then
the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them

14 And
they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.
15 Now
if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,
16 Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.
See Hebews 3:
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was
he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose
carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom
sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to
them that believed not?
26 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.
Num 14:22 Because
all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have
tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;
23 Surely they
shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:
27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which
murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.
28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:
29
Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,
32 But as for you,
your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.
33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness
forty years, and
bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.
34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even
forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.
Physical Israel had a shadow of the heavenly inheritance. The Shadow was earthly, ours in Christ is heavenly. There is an interesting passage, I think applies to us in Christ.
2 & 1/2 tribes received an inheritance from Moses on the other side of the Jordon, before the rest of the nation even passed over into their portion.
Jos 1:12 And to the
Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,
13
Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God
hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.
14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall
remain in the land which
Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but
ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and
help them;
15
Until the LORD have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORDS servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.
These could not enjoy the "rest" of their inheritance until their brethren received theirs. They went and fought for them to receive it first.
Deu 3:18 And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.
19 But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;
20 Until the LORD have
given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the LORD your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.
