I wonder if Americans who say, ''End the Fed'' truly understand the implications of that statement. Because the U.S. Dollar is the world's reserve currency, the Fed can literally print money out of nothing and do (nowadays it's mostly done by computer generated credits).
The U.S. military uses about half of all the petroleum products produced in the entire world each year, and essentially get it for free because they pay for it using U.S. dollars. We've seen how Iran has been punished for refusing to accept U.S. dollars for oil.
It doesn't take an economist to realize that if you keep producing currency with nothing tangible to back it up with (besides the Military Industrial Complex), sooner or later, the system will hyperinflate and collapse or there will be another World War.
