Sure but there are two ways to go about it. He was not like the demanding Pharisees in His approach
You need to do the study of Jesus rebuking others. Then compare that with the Chosen and see if it matches.
This is the only way you can see that the show is not even a resemblance of Scripture. The show is false.

This is an example of the call to repentance. So again, the Chosen is unbiblical and will lead people to think they don’t have to repent when they are in sin.
Sorry but the whole series so far is about the change (repentance) in the Chosen. Repentance isn't a magical flash. It requires first understanding of how we are backwards to the Kingdom, then the slow progression into adapting to a new lifestyle unfamiliar to our lives. They learned as they go.

We see Jesus recognize others seeking forgiveness with God in Luke 18:9-14, and Luke 15:11-32.
Again, I make my case for repentance in the thread link I gave to you before. Repent means to seek forgiveness with the LORD with the intention that you will not do such a sin again. I make my case with the Bible in that thread. For example: The Bible talks about how you can repent sitting in sackcloth and ashes. How does that work in your view of repentance? The short answer is that… “It doesn’t.” Again, this is why many today really just follow the crowd and they really don’t study the Bible on their own with the Spirit on such matters. Granted, I am not saying I always get everything right. But I do allow myself to be corrected by what the Word says. Most today just either ignore what the Bible says when they don’t like it or they try to change what it says.

Repent means to seek forgiveness with the LORD with the intention that you will not do such a sin again.
The only sin there is is putting our will (based on self interest) ahead of the Father's will. That self interest creates all the 'things' we label as 'sin' while ignoring it's true meaning
The Bible talks about how you can repent sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
Humbleness. No longer seeing our self will as sufficient.

Well, first, your not addressing my points involving the Bible, and you are rambling on without any Scripture verses. Second, you are defending a sinful TV series that is clearly ecumenical. Are you ecumenical?

Jesus says it’s not about rules on the Chosen when he is confronted about God’s laws.

Watch this video here:

I simply acknowledged that it's not as pop-culture superficial as I expected.

Compared to reading the Bible it is superficial and false. It downgrades the deity of Jesus Christ. It attacks the real Jesus of the Bible and replaces it with a false Jesus that many today like. There are even study guides you can get for the Chosen series. Just a show? Why are there study guides?

Christian Forums is ecumenical.
Not all posters here are trying to fellowship with everyone of different denominations and neither do all posters here claim they agree with the denominations of others. The interface and creators that make the platform may be ecumenical, the many Christians who use the platform are not all ecumenical. There is no rule saying you have to be ecumenical, either. In either case, at the end of the day, we have to see what the Bible says on such matters. Are you ecumenical? Do you see truth in Catholicism, Mormonism, etc. as just many branches that lead to the same destination? If so, what Bible verse or passage encourages such thinking?

My opinion regarding that is seen in my longstanding profile quote:

"Biblical Jesus: Preaches God's righteousness. Warns of sin, judgement and hell. Hated and despised by the world. Exalts God the Father's will. Offends the world with the truth.

Secular Jesus: Preaches only on love. Never says anything negative. Loved and accepted by the world. Serves your will, not God's will. Hates to offend you and others.

Which one is your Jesus?"

The rule is all Christians have to agree to the Nicene Creed and in that regard there is ecumenicity. Personally I'd like to see more ecumenicity among Christians and less tribalism. Tribalism is contrary to 1 Corinthians 12:12-27.

Catholicism has been around for 2000 years. Mormonism was started by a con-artist in 1830. Catholicism teaches the same soteriology as you do. Uses the same verses you do.

Its just a show........a drama. You dont have to keep watching it.

I bet many have been turned towards Jesus because of it.

Oh, don't you worry about that. I have a copy of the Book of Mormon, so I'll be on the lookout for whatever fictions might be borrowed and adapted from the Book of Mormon into the existing script (or text). I'm smart like that.

I'm also Trans-denominational (meaning "I don't give a rat's petuti about denominational differences as long as folks are generally Trinitarian in the traditional sense and mutually caring people.") So, if a brother or sister, such as the lead actor in The Chosen, is RCC, that's fine by me. I'm not overly concerned about it.

I suppose next you'll be the censor for delineating exactly which "Jesus" movies or shows can be viewed by orthodox Christians. I suppose I'll have to pan any additional viewings of the old Jesus of Nazareth show I like from the 1970s because it has an RCC backing?

You need to stop your deprecation of other, fellow Trinitarian Christians. It's not becoming.

No one here HAS to agree with you and whatever specific doctrinal formulations you hold from your own church denomination (which I'm sure has it's own fault lines in there somewhere). This means we don't have to agree with whatever your favorite pastor or Bible teachers say in order for us to consider ourselves "Christian." Of course, the reason no one really has to listen to you spiel here is that no human Christian (or church) is perfect. So, there's little need for you or anyone else to badger other Christian folks. Most of us here read the bible too, and for the most part, ..........................you're preaching to the choir.

The Passion of the Christ 2004 as well. Mel Gibson is a Catholic. Plus there's other stuff to hold against him.

Yeah. There was that one too.

But you know, the irony is that I'll bet I won't get any credit from Bible Highlighter for the fact that I've never seen Mel Gibson's, The Passion of the Christ.

There are study guides!
That is incredible, agreed why would there be study guides for a show? WOW

That sort of thing isn't anything new. I remember there being study guides for the T.V. mini-series based on the book of Acts that was done 10 years ago. Not that I ever used any of them............................no, I just watched the show.
