  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, I rented this movie last night and I was really impressed. The screen play is amazing, and the characters and story is superb. I highly reccomend this to anyone (I am picking it up tomorrow).

This is my second favorite movie, only bested by Braveheart.

But, what I really want to know is your thoughts about the movie. With all the swearing and gore, how did you feel about this picture?

Maybe I was harsh on the movie, but I thought it was stupid. William Defoes(sp?) part was a wierd one. I'm sure the director had him act that 'loud',and his lines were over acted, with more emotion than called for.

Most people don't like this movie, or they can't remember it, meaning they didn't like it. But this movie became a cult type hit. I joined a clan named "The Usual Suspects", but the two leaders were named(xbox gamertag) after the two brothers on Boondocksaints.
So this movie was aimed at a certian crowd, and you either loved it, or meehhh.

I liked it a lot, parallels the movie "Frailty" really well, a movie I also recommend, less swearing, but also not as many references to Charles Bronson which is a downer ;)
Anyhew, probably my favorite part is the beginning credits music, wow. The brothers' tatoos were nice as well, I should get one of the two, Veritas maybe...
Anyone who doesn't like it will get serial crushed by some huge friggin guy!!!

i enjoyed this movie, for all the blood shown the violence was nearly all off screen. the language was pretty coarse but so were the characters to a similar degree. the 'interviews' during the closing credits were kinda weird, not sure if they were needed. anywho, good flick overall as far as violent fairy tales go.

I thought it was a pretty decent film, but it doesn't really do anything that I haven't seen done better in other places (such as Pulp Fiction or Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), so it's not really on my top ten list or anything like that. I enjoyed watching it, but it's just not a movie I liked enough to get that enthusiastic about.

Put me in the second camp. The movie was not really that great, IMO. There were a few good moments, but ultimately, like someone said before, it's mostly been done before and better. I really wish they'd done more with what I thought was the film's most interesting idea. Specifically, they should have probed more into the question of whether or not the killers are justified in what they are doing. Are they really doing God's work? But alas, that's just thrown in a bit at the end through the interviews, which don't give any insight into the issue. Oh well
