Romans 10:11
Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be ashamed.”

Romans 10:12
There is no difference between Jews and Greeks. They all have the same Lord, who gives his riches to everyone who calls on him.

Romans 10:13
So then, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:14
But how can people call on him if they have not believed in him? How can they believe in him if they have not heard his message? How can they hear if no one tells the Good News?

Romans 10:15
How can people tell the Good News if no one sends them? As Scripture says, “How beautiful are the feet of the messengers who announce the Good News.

Romans 10:16
But not everyone has believed the Good News.

Romans 10:17 But not everyone has believed the Good News.

Romans 10:18
But I ask, “Didn’t they hear that message?” Certainly they did! “The voice of the messengers has gone out into the whole world and their words to the ends of the earth.”

Romans 10:19
Again I ask, “Didn’t Israel understand that message?” Moses was the first to say, “I will make you jealous of people who are not a nation. I will make you angry about a nation that doesn’t understand.”

Romans 10:20
Isaiah said very boldly, “I was found by those who weren’t looking for me. I was revealed to those who weren’t asking for me.”

Romans 10:21
Then Isaiah said about Israel, “All day long I have stretched out my hands to disobedient and rebellious people.

Romans 11:1
I ask then: Did God reject his people? by no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.

Romans 11:2
No, God has not rejected and disowned His people [whose destiny] He had marked out and appointed and foreknown from the beginning. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?

Romans 11:3
Lord, they have killed Your prophets; they have demolished Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.

Romans 11:4
But what is God’s reply to him? I have kept for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal!

So too at the present time there is a remnant (a small believing minority), selected (chosen) by grace (by God’s unmerited favor and graciousness).

Romans 11:6
But if it is by grace (His unmerited favor and graciousness), it is no longer conditioned on works or anything men have done. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace [it would be meaningless].

Romans 11:7
What then [shall we conclude]? Israel failed to obtain what it sought [God’s favor by obedience to the Law]. Only the elect (those chosen few) obtained it, while the rest of them became callously indifferent (blinded, hardened, and made insensible to it).

Romans 11:8
As it is written, God gave them a spirit (an attitude) of stupor, eyes that should not see and ears that should not hear, [that has continued] down to this very day.

Romans 11:9
And David says, Let their table (their feasting, banqueting) become a snare and a trap, a pitfall and a [a]just retribution [rebounding like a boomerang upon them];
