I'm really ticked off with the BBC. It's obvious that whoever is responsible (and I use that word loosly) for programme sheduling does not have kids. They have decided, in their infinate wisdom, to show National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (my all time favourite Christmas movie) at 10pm on Christmas Eve.
Given that most of the generation of people who are into Nat Lampoon are those who are now most likely to have young families, this is a monumentally bad piece of scheduling. What on earth do they think parents are doing at 10pm on Christamas Eve? Sitting watching TV with a quiet drink? We should be so lucky!!
I'll tell you what we are doing at that time on Christmas Eve. We've just spent the last 2 hours trying to get the kids to sleep and we now have everything to get ready for the following day. As Homer Simpson say's "There's only one fat guy round here who brings presents and his name aint Santa" (being 16 stone I can relate to that).
The busiest 2 hours of the Christmas period and some dummkopf decides that that's the best time to show this movie. These people do not live in the real world!!!
"Doh!!" to quote Homer again.
