Hey, I've shared this poem with a couple of other boards, but I've been so excited about it that I can't refrain from sharing it with everyone else. It's been so long since I've been able to write a good poem. I kinda got burnt out doing assigned poems in my poetry class last semester and didn't think I'd get my groove back...but guess what! Muahaha! Anyway, I called it "The Bittersweet Unending" because I thought of what death is seen as here on Earth, but also how it is seen in the hopeful eyes of Christians. "Bitter" meaning our loved ones here on Earth will mourn and grieve the loss, but "sweet" because we're on our way home to the "unending," to eternity where we will indeed be united in spirit and love forever. So...here goes.
With dismal drops the saddest name is spoken in the
dawn
with rays of gold to warm the tendrils of lightly
rising fog
a soul will ride the flashing spark of the shimmering
dew drop fallen,
into the arms of a soft, sweet love where I hear my
Savior calling.
Here I'll live as a soul united in one love and
spirit,
with closest friends with kindred blood who share a
sacred tear.
Where hearts will fuse to lift up song to the sweetest
dawn arising.
We will live forever, for one Love, in the Bittersweet
Unending.
