Have you considered that Satan and his minions are just about as old as the earth? By the time Christ returns Satan will have begun his 6,000th Year. Sun Tzu says:
"Know the enemy and know yourself and in a hundred battles you will never lose."

While Sun Tzu wrote his book in the context and laguage of the military arts it was neccessary to begin with the surface before penetrating into the depths. There is no other way to properly reach the heights of heaven or the depths of the sea without first beginning on the surface of the earth. Therefore war is not limited to simply armed conflict as we have enemies on and off the battlefield. And the most important war which has been fought since the fall of Lucifer is the Information War.
Who is the source of all information? God. What is the highest level of information? Truth. What is the medium through which truth is communicated? History. What is the effect of truth? Freedom. Therefore if one wants to be free they must turn to God which leads to salvation and eternal life.
Who is the source of all false information? Satan because he was the first to deceive himself and deceive others. What is the lowest level of information? Falsehood. What is the medium through which falsehood is communicated? History. What is the effect of falsehood? Bondage. Therefore if one wants to be in bondage and live as a slave to sin they must turn away from God, and this leads to damnation and eternal death.
In the story of Adam and Eve we see that after God had created the world and all the plant life and animals He finally created mankind. And we also see that God had already put all the and principles of truth into the world which govern it and all which exist within: here we have the origins of Law and Order. When the serpent came along he told Eve that her and Adam could become their own gods and define good and evil for themselves: in other words they could write their own laws and disregard the laws of God. Seeing that a perfect God created perfect laws it's no suprise why all laws which have been enacted by man can never surpass the completeness contained in the Ten Commandments or the words of Christ which sum up the whole law in two sayings:
“Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might."

"You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord."
Leviticus 19:18 NASB1995
How can these be the words of Christ when I quoted from the Law of Moses? It is because Yeshua is the Word and the Word became felsh and dwelt among us. And it is this same Word which was given to Moses on Mt. Sinai. So when our thoughts and lives aren't in line with these two basic principles we violate the whole law, why? Because God loves the world and all in it as He loves Himself. While it is easy enough for people to understand:
Punish the evil and reward the good.
Many fail at this when it comes to their friends and enemies why? Because God does this:
Friends are punished when they commit evil and enemies are rewarded when they do good.
This may seem like a contradiction but it is quite in line with the wise words of our Messiah:
"God sends rain on the just and the unjust"
This is in keeping with nature and because it is true it is no wonder that the wise Lao Tzu understood this when he said:
"The highest good is like water. Water gives life to the ten thousand things and does not strive.
It flows in places men reject and so is like the Tao."

Failure to understand the sources of truth and falsehood lead to losing the Information War. It is like a man being unable to tell the difference between light and darkness and good and evil. Despite this we believe in and appoint men and women who are humanists and secularists, why? Because Satan is the first humanist and secularist whose lies we keep falling for. In the dialogue from The Devils Advocate (1997) between John Milton (Al Pacino who plays Satan) and Kevin Lomax (the son of Satan):
Kevin Lomax: Why the law? Cut the ****, dad! Why the lawyers? Why the law?
John Milton: Because the law, my boy, puts us into everything. It's the ultimate backstage pass. It's the new priesthood baby. Did you know there are more students in law school than lawyers walking the earth? We're coming out! Guns blazin'! The two of you, all of us: aqcuital, after acquital, after acquital until the stench of it reaches so high and far into heaven it chokes the whole ******* lot of'em.
