I've been in a monogamous lesbian relationship for over three years. I have every intention of growing old and enjoying many a holiday with her. We are not consumed with or addicted to sex. And neither of us have gay bowel syndrome.
Beechy, your profile says your a Christian, and a Methodist. Are those mere labels, or do you seek to apply God's word to your own life? To grow closer to God, we have to be continually breaking down barriers that separate us from him. Once one barrier is overcome, the Holy Spirit reveals additional inadequacies. The Christian journey is all about continually pealing away layers of scaly skin so that we more and more resemble Christ.
Your lesbianism is a scaly layer that must be removed:
Romans 1: "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones."
Ephesians 4:30: "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."
You cannot walk in the Holy Spirit and please God while you remain a practicing lesbian.
It's one thing to be addicted to a sin and be unable to break free. It's another thing to tell God, "I'm going to do this anyway, no matter what the Bible says." If you do the latter, you can loose your salvation, even as a Christian.
Hebrews 6:4-6: "It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, becauseto their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace."
A Christian who loses his or her salvation is in a far worse place than a person who never was saved to begin with. God holds Christians to a far higher standard than non-believers.
Luke 12:47: "That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows."
You may have a number of reasons for having lesbian relationship, but there much better reasons to end the relationship. There are better ways to express love for others, and there are better ways to enjoy sexual intimacy. I want you to have a better life than your status quo.
