  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The best way to keep the fire burning is?

When I first knew God and have read his words, I feel like jumping. There's nothing compared to that joy and burst-like love. There is always that intensity to speak about the Good News and spread what I have just learned.

But when reality hits...

like a bus in it's maximum speed limit,
I suddenly see how the outside world is evolving around with its own stuffs to deal with. As a teen, it's undeniably hard not to get engaged.

I want to be that child again.. the one whose joy is surfaced-leveled and whose heart is pure with innocence.

Indeed, it is wonderful to truly know God, but simply knowing, we know, is not enough.

How can we keep the fire burning?

By always staying in constant communication with Yahweh - Thanking, praising, praying, reading about Him, and worshiping Him.

I like this and add you may find it helpful to think often on verses such as Romans 5:8-10 which reminds us of God's great love for us and while we were still sinners Christ died for us. And we are now justified by Christ's blood which reconcilies us to God and we are saved through His life.

God Bless

None of us can expect the fire to burn intensely for the long term. Long, sustained fire is about trust and holding on in good times and bad. A relationship with God does not guarantee an easy or always-happy life. There will be times where we perceive God to be more distant, and those are the times where our trust will be tested. Real joy is about faith and hope in our inheritance and future with God. When your joy is there, it won't come and go like the "burst-like" fire that you described.
