Best thing about Colorado is the clean air and mountain beauty.
(I lived in Denver area 2 years and know that clean air in the city is hard to come by )

I am originally from the St Louis area. But I loved the mountains. They were gorgeous. And Colorado has the best rainbows in the sky after serious rain storms. They are spectacular. Believe me, you don't see rainbows in St Louis like the ones around Aurora and out on the plains.

Once I had a really bad dream where I woke up and the mountains were gone.

If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes!^_^

Yeah, when I lived in Denver back in the 80s, I recall a nasty hail storm followed by bright sunshine and the day ended picturesque. You'd have never known a terrible morning hailstorm whipped through by dusk. It's wild.

And one time at work in the heart of Denver, 4 tornado funnel clouds were dipping down and going back up to the sky back and forth for at least an hour. And everyone in the building went outside to watch it (instead of hiding under their desk). I never saw such nonchalance at a tornado in my life. Being from the St Louis area where we get nasty tornados every so often, that really freacked me out. "people there's a twister up in them there clouds, ready to dip down and suck you back up"

It's hard to think of anything bad about Colorado. I live in a small town in SW CO, and in addition to having clean air, beautiful scenery, and hiking and jeeping trails starting almost in my backyard, there is the calming sense of peace and quiet that really brings me closer to God. Sometimes, I can't believe how blessed I am.

I've seen some amazing sunrises and sunsets here. Being 5000 ft above sea level lets one see different and opposing weather in different sections of the city. Must be tough to be a meteorologist here. One time last fall it rained in diffent sections and then the sun shone from behind the mountains around 5 pm - it was like fire bubbling behind the mountains and strange gold at eye level all around with clouds up above - I had never seen anything like it - in the movies or anywhere I had been before. Colorado makes you realize how big this earth is. Colorado is WIDE open. Distance is Colorado. I had to move here after getting LASIK eye surgery to justify the $4K.
