Personally, I love the look of the original Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. I even like how it looks with the original (front loading) Sega CD/Mega CD attached to it. It's HUGE, but looks like an evil spaceship sitting in your entertainment centre... just wait to attack something. Just don't add the 32X... it looks like a deformed, half-birthed, mating disaster.

The Sega Master System and the Atari 2600 are my second choice. The Master System also looks like some kind of spaceship, while the 70s wood trim on the 2600 is awesome.

Honourable mention goes to the Nintendo Entertainment System.




As for the worst-looking console of all time, I'd have to say it's a 2-way tie between the Nintendo 64 and the 32X Sega add-on.

It is not like Sony will give you a free internet connection with your PS3, you still need to have an ISP, internet service provider. Then, you need to connect your PS3 to either a wired network or a wireless network that is set up in your home.

You can also talk to people all over the world with the XBOX 360, or your computer. (I dont know if the Wii supports VoIP or video chat) XBOX Live has many similar features to the Playstation Network, but XBOX live has a monthly charge.

Considering that "better" is spelt substantially differently from "beta", and also noting that "beta" is an actual word, I think we can assume that our young learner of the English language did, in fact, mean "beta." I believe this new member of CF is of the opinion that, because it is prone to overheating, crashing and complete system failure at a rate that should not ever be seen in consumer products, the X-Box 360 really is just a highly-successful beta product that never should've been on the shelves of commercial retailers in the first place!

From my typical experiences on multilingual forums, posts from non english speakers usually are quite different from that post. The overall writing style of that post is, in my opinion, much closer to the style displayed by many online english posters who find more "proper writing" to be a waste of time. I do agree that beta is a good description of the XBOX 360. With around 10% failure rates on the motherboard alone, this product needed much more design and testing before its release. However, they have started to correct some of the problems on the newer models.

Still not good enough! My Wii, DS and PS3 are all working fine.

The funny part is that I was actually planning on buying a 360. After readying so much about the high failure rate, and then witnessing it firsthand with MULTIPLE friends, I was completely put off. A high failure rate, combines with Microsoft's [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth]-poor customer service and refusal to make the 360 region-free lost them my business.

note: while the Wii is not region-free, most of the games on it that I'm interested in do not require much listening or reading. Considering that I have a Japanese Wii, this stuff is important! I just miss Zelda...

PS3, It's fat, but ohh soo shiny, and the buttons are cool, and by buttons I mean the slide thingys, you just slide your finger over them and they work, that's neat. The front on the Wii looks ugly, it looks like a little door you never open (Really, look on the left of the front of your Wii, WTH is that?).
