  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When posting the scene, discribe it. So consider this thread one big spoiler, and don't look if you don't want to know.
If fact do it like mine, draw a line under the movies listed, and put the scene in.

Drew Barrymore gets a phone call from a phsyco. He asks her 3 questions, and if she gets them right, she lives. If not she dies.
This scene blew me away, and it set the pace for the movie.

That club scene where the blood comes down from the sprinklers, and that human freaks out. Then Blade comes and shreads things up.Great beginning.

Royal Tenebaums - alec baldwin's voice-over narration is perfect.
Amelie - once again, the voice-over narration of the opening scene is perfect.
Ghost in the Shell - a man's head explodes and a naked girl disappears.
Old School - girl friend's secret not so much a secret.

When the Woads attack the convoy carrying the knights' release papers and Arthur and his knights absolutely demolish them. I love Bors and his brass-knuckles/knives and Tristam's sorta... stylized fighting style. And Arthur just pillaging those fighting him. That was rather fun too.

The classic Tantive IV/Star Destroyer opening scene is just... awesome.

I am not a huge fan of the movie in general, but Kubrick's opening to 2001:A Space Oddesy is a classic--with the groups of monkeys and the monolith and the tool bone flying into outer space.

And anyone who knows anything about the history of movies is probably sick of hearing about Citizen Kane, but it is definately cool that they give you a breifing of Charles Foster Kane's entire life even though the whole movie is about investigating his life. Groundbreaking stuff right there.
