  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There is a new movie being released on the 6/6/2006, preaching the message that Jesus never actually existed.

http://www.thebeastmovie.com/

I wonder what effect it will have? A worldwide release of a film which claims to have facts that will be a part of Christianity's demise is bound to have a negative effect on those who may have come to Christ otherwise, and even those who are already Christians. :(

I am going to do some research to refute the claims made on the forum's website.

My bet is that it will open up to huge fanfare and then fizzle away.

It's nothing more than anti-Christian propoganda and since "The Last Temptation" failed in the box office because of Christian protests. I'm betting this will fail as well.

To be fair, I don't think that the last tempation failed solely due to Christian protests but because it was not a good film.

cheers

Threads about this film pop up every once and a while, and I would like to give my final take on the matter to all fundamentalist believers as we approach the release of this film: Ignore it.

Fundamentalists have a recorded history of protesting films ,such as the Last Temptation of Christ, that they believe go directly against their beliefs as Christians. What alot of believers don't understand is that protests of the sort are not going to:

A. Destroy the film

B. Prevent people from seeing it.

Rather, if Christians start to go crazy about the release of this film, it will result into something the press can inflate to a mass controversy, that will make people see the film, because they want to see what all the fuss is about (Furthermore, from what I've heard, Fundamentalist Christians are the bad guys in this one, and are trying to cover up the truth. If Christians start trying to get rid of the film, plenty of people are going to think it is true). If you think the movie is going to be a bomb, your best weapon is to completely ignore it. If it's a bad movie, and there is no controversy around it, noone will see it.
