The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.
We don't want to be ignorant of what's going on.We don't want to be left behind. We don't want to get caught up in the tribulation-the greastest turbulence in human activities of all times.

There is an old saying that to be forewarned is to be forearmed. The Bible tells us there is a spiritual war going on for our minds.[2 Corinthians 10;3-5].

For though we walk in the flesh,we do not war after the flesh;(for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations (this is in our minds),and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,and bringing into capivity every thought (this is our thinging) to the obedience of Christ.

Our spiritual enemy,Satan, tries to attack people in their minds-their thinking. He tries to get people to doubt,to fear,to imagine the wrost will happen. And the Bible says, fear has torment (1 John 4;18).So the devil's goal is to steal people's peace and happiness by tormenting them in their thoughts. He doesn't want people to know about Jesus Christ. But if they have made Jesus their Lord, the devil does not want them to have any joy or peace of mind. The devil wants people gripped with fear.

Fear paralyzes action, but faith releases action. Two things happen when we're attacked with fear,we either flee and hide,or we stand and fight. We need to stand and fight the fight of faith.

God Bless.

Thats funny, because there is a war going on in my head too.

Only I am trying to get these silly christian values and morals out of my head that have been engrained in me by my parents and soceity so that I can think freely. I always find that I am my own worst enemy when trying to think clearly.

I wouldn't really call Christian ideas "annoying." There are some really good moral values written in the Bible. I don't believe everything written in the Bible (neither does my mother, who is a Christian), nor do I believe in Christianity, but you can really learn some things from reading the Bible.

Of course, you can learn these same morals from reading other books too.

There are the same morals yet more in only the five precepts. Buddhism has a higher moral standard bar, therefore it's teachings are possibly morally better. However, Christian ideas as far as moral systems go aren't too bad but fundies try to get too many people to agree with them.
