what a great band! I like their newest album(By The Way) quite a bit! They have really matured and yet are still the same RHCP's we know and love----minus some of the raunchiness ;)

I think McCartney was attempting to use the bass as another vocal , that is how I interpret it anyway. ;)
WOW! You menioned my favorite Beatles song "Rain". What an amazing bassline on that track. I agree with you on McCartney's technique. Also consider the fact that he was a guitar player before becoming the bassist for the Beatles (Stu Sutcliffe being the "original" bassist for the band). He actually played it more like another lead guitar. :amen:
