Today, our brothers-in-arms over at The Babylon Bee announced they are releasing a feature-length film making fun of the one thing you're not supposed to make fun of: the darkest, and "most deadliest day" in American history: January 6.

Also, hmm, doing comedy about a violent crime is really tricky. The comedian comes very close to simply making fun of people's suffering, and it's a rare person who can joke about violence without stepping over that line. I suspect that the Babylon Bee has chosen unwisely in their selection of subject matter.

Right, they are clearly not making fun of an injury. There's really no danger here of "making fun of suffering," even though it will be spun this way.

I agree with this. I think their writers just don't have a good ear for writing humor, for finding that exact twist that makes something funny.
