Leonard Ravenhill once said, "Prophets are God's emergency men for crisis hours. They thrive on perplexity, override adversity, defeat calamity, bring the new wine of the Kingdom to burst the withered wineskins of orthodoxy, and birth REVIVAL. Let no Christian's heart fail him because it seems that the enemy has come in like a flood, that the voice of the prophet is not heard in the land. God has His men hidden. They will come forth without price tags; with nothing to sell, nothing to propagate, but 'holiness unto the Lord'.

"This is to turn the world upside down, to offend every rule of good breeding, and to tear up the landmarks of civilized society..." - Horatius Bonar, in True Revival

Do I wish to be seen and known, or do I wish to make my Saviour more perfectly known? Shall I glory, or shall I bring Him glory?
O give me a double portion of thy Spirit that I may impart more to those who hear and read! Let every word be a holy fire of zeal, a blazing hot inferno that burns up all sin in its path, leaving behind a vessel for the finer (Proverbs 25:4), forged in the crucible of Almighty God's most vehement flame (Song 8:6) Let thy consuming fire, O God, melt and mold, and may it destroy all that is of the world, the flesh, and the devil.

I will not abide this mush psychological preaching: it goes only so far, but no farther. It stops short of the goal. It faints before the finish line is in view. And it leaves men in their sins. Let sin be cut out at its core, and the axe laid to the root of the tree!

"To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit."
"Thus saith the Lord GOD; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof." (Ezekiel 31:14 & 17:9)

If you are not bearing fruit, you will be hewn down, "And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire." (Matthew 3:10)
"Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth." (Hosea 6:5)

Oh, you that make a public confession, and yet curse and swear: you who get baptized and tell dirty jokes as vile as the world, You who are clean on the exterior but in your heart are vile and hateful, complaining, and unclean in your iniquity; God sees you, and for this He shall bring thee into judgment lest ye repent. "Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? (Matthew 23:33)

Wait, you say, I'm not a scribe or a pharisee, that's who Jesus was a dressing there! Well, there's a little pharisee in everyone, or maybe a lot of pharisee in some, and pride rears its ugly serpent head bejeweled with glittering scales that hide the reptile viper seeking its prey and the venom of its fangs. No less sooner would you lay into someone in false judgment and anger, than a Rattlesnake sink its deadly fangs into the hapless Mouse they crosses its path!

Repent, you who name the name of Christ, but take His name in vain. It's not just words, but action too, and if both are vile, and the thoughts of your heart only evil continually, you are crucifying the Son of God to yourselves afresh, and putting Him to an open shame. (Hebrews 6:6) There shall be a fine line between the burning at the judgment seat of Christ, and the burning of the lake of fire, into which all unsaved sinners are cast, whose names are not written in Lamb's book of life (Revelation 19:15 & 21:27) Do you know on which side of that line you stand? Because there is no standing ON that line, no middle of the road, no riding the fence, for that line is as thin as a spiders web: you are on one side or the other.

"How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him; but if Baal, or any other idol, or lust, or covetousness, then follow them. (See 1 Kings 18:21) Do you answer not a word as they did? Is there no King in your life as the was no King in Israel; every man did that which was right IN HIS OWN EYES? (Judges 21:25) Choose you this day whom ye will serve, like Joshua cried unto the people; the God's of you past and your lusts, or shall ye fear the LORD and obey Him, and serve Him in sincerity and truth? ((See Joshua 24:14-15)

Look at Jeremiah 23:29-32,
"Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the Lord, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD."

Break that heart of stone. Let the hammer of the Word smash it to pieces and pound out every vestige of sin that dwells there, for it is written in Ezekiel 36:25-27, "Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

"Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.....
Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.....
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth....
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." (Revelation 2:4, 5, 16 & 3:16 & 19)

For I tell you assuredly the LORD Yahweh shall fly out of His sanctuary in heaven, and tread upon the high places of the earth: He will rend the heavens and come down, and He shall fulfill every last prophecy in the Bible that is not yet fulfilled. His eyes search the earth; they behold every single one of you, and He knows the innermost thoughts and intents of your heart. Shall you hear such as this? "And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)" (Ezekiel 16:23) I'd rather not hear the Lord GOD say any "woe woe" unto me, how about you?

In 1888 Charles Spurgeon preached in a message entitled The Blood of the Lamb; the Conquering Weapon, describing Satan - "As a dragon he is full of cunning and ferocity. In him force is allied with craft; and if he cannot achieve his purpose at once by power, he waits his time. He deludes, he deceives; in fact, he is said to deceive the whole world. What a power of deception must reside in him, when under his influence the third part of the stars of heaven are made to fall, and myriads of men in all ages have worshipped demons and idols! He has steeped the minds of men in delusion, so that they cannot see that they should worship none but God, their Maker."

This is the dread "God of this age" (2 Corinthians 4:44) who is more than willing to feed your fleshly desires with temptations of every sort, throwing images of women at you that if you lust after her in your heart and in your mind, you have committed pornea, fornication, por-nography: it's all the same - a harlot, an adulteress, or a picture, or a video that provokes lust, and such things keep you out of the kingdom of God, and shut out from the city of God.

"Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3 & 5) I reference these verses often because God wants them referenced, for Jesus even spoke the same thing twice in a row, "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.." Oh, what shall we do then, to be saved? Who then can be saved? Repent, turn from your sins to the living God in Jesus Christ, and fall under the fount of His blood poured out in agony on that old rugged cross, for with God all things are possible, though to man it looks and seems impossible.

When the disciples were amazed at Jesus sayings, they asked "Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:25 - 26)

Many are not delivered because they hold on to their sin, or even one pet sin, and a little leaven leavens the whole lump. Burn it free! Burn it out! Let the blast furnace scorch and consume with pure white hot flame, the sin that doth so easily beset you. Let go! You think you are holding on to a pleasure, a calming potion, and a comfort thing, but it's killing your soul. It could be killing your body too. But what you're really clinging to are the ever growing writhing black tentacles of the primordial monster of sin: a nightmarish thing of most hiddeus proportions, and it will continue to wrap you until it devours you, and its belly is the abyss of hell, and the most dreadful torments beyond anything you can imagine.

Jesus said, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." (Luke 10:19)
