There is one doctrine of the Church that changes everything... and I mean everything!

And once you get it, your understanding of salvation is radically transformed.

    I'm talking about deification.

Yup! You and I are created to be divine!

St. Peter declares very clearly that we are destined to become "partakers" of the divine nature of God 2 Peter 1:4. But that's not the only place in Scripture thus amazing doctrine is found.

Nice to see some modern recognition of the concept of Theosis from the West! It seems to have been placed on the backburner for centuries in the RCC and I think it would be extremely beneficial for it to become a focus once more.

I was teaching Theosis to my 8th graders last year. It's a vital theology.

Indeed. It was a "stumbling block" to me when I first heard it. "What? Seriously? This sounds like heresy." The concept is so rich that it deserves making a pause and reflecting on it to understand both ourselves, God, and the work He does in us.

Well, it 'sounds like' heresy but instead it is the profound corollary to the incarnation and redemption.

Many cradle Catholics have never been exposed to it either. One of the parents of my students the other year was very touched by it. She called it shockingly beautiful.

I read the comment to the article. Is he on the same page as what the church teaches and doesn't realize it, or is he making a statement that the CC is wrong?
