  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Assyrian Captivity, what does it mean to Christians?
Where are the captives?
Is it important?
Is it an issue Christians should discuss or something that is forgotten?

Better yet, what does it mean to non Christians?

Question?

I posted these before

These two accounts (you can go back and read them)

Mic 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me (Christ) that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. (quoted in Mat 2:6 also )

Its the next verse...

Mic 5:5 And this man (Christ) shall be the peace, (((((when)))) the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

Right after the quote In Isaiah 7:14 of the virgin with child a sign given To the house of David (of Christ) And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David) Mary gave birth to Christ (which draws in the above Mic 5:2 quoted in Mat 2:6)

But what I was looking at this specifically...

Isaiah 7:16-17 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings. The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.

So these, separate yet meet together both mentioning either Assyria or the King of Assyria at the same place it makes mention of Christ both of which meets in the gospels.

Thats what I want to know:thumbsup:
