I'm thrilled to see so many American cricket fans posting here!

As for the current series, I'm 35, and have been watching cricket since I was a young boy. This is the worst Australian team I can remember; even worse than some they sent over in the mid 80s, which I can barely remember.

Whilst the best cricket comes from an evenly matched series (like we had in 2005, which will never be forgotten), after 15 years of unbroken Australian dominance, it feels good to be well on top of them, and I don't want them to recover quite yet! Also, I wouldn't like to underestimate just how well England are playing right now. We have a very well balanced side, with no real weak points, and great strength in depth from the players in reserve.

Something funny happened along the way - the chat room I was in pointed out that bowler Joe Root looks a lot like Ellen Degeneres. And he does!
That's very funny. I imagine you've also heard of Shane Warne's nickname for Ian Bell; The Sherminator?!

We're back on!

The first test from Brisbane starts tonight at 00:00 GMT (that's 7pm EST for you American cricket fans).

Free stream will be available here: Live Sports | Live Sports Streaming | Live Football Stream

The usual mudslinging and mind games have been gaining pace over the last couple of weeks, and as always with the Ashes, the series promises to be a good one.
