I just recently found out about this place and since our recent parasha was about Genesis 6---I thought it would be good to discuss this.

Ark Encounter features a full-size Noah’s Ark, built according to the dimensions given in the Bible. Spanning 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, this modern engineering marvel amazes visitors young and old. Ark Encounter is situated in beautiful Grant County in Kentucky, halfway between Cincinnati and Lexington and right off I-75.

Has anyone here been there?

I've seen some videos and it looks like a really cool place to visit. I've also read about some protests held there too.

The Ark Encounter even has it's own YouTube channel where you can see a few videos of the place.

I like this feature

Rainbow Lights at the Ark

The Ark is illuminated with rainbow colors in the evening as a testament to the true meaning of the rainbow. After the Flood, God designated the rainbow as the sign of His covenant to never again destroy the whole earth with water.

And that's just a small portion of it, here it is in the day time

upload_2017-10-23_0-48-47.png

Ark Encounter is the largest timber frame structure in the world, built from standing dead timber, in part by skilled Amish craftsmen. The Ark is an architectural and engineering wonder containing three decks of world-class exhibits.

It has all kinds of exhibits, even ones to show how there was a world wide flood showing all the whole earths stories of this great flood.

Unfortunetly many people dispise Ken Ham for his shameless promotion of the authority and trustworthiness of the bible.

In Answers in Genesis and the Ark experience there are great resources on the bible, articles about Christianity as well as a strong case for a young earth and a 6 day creation.

It is a site I'd love to visit.

The Garden East of Eden was created in 6 days, but man was banished
from that place to our current ancient earth (not created in 6 days).

Genesis 1 talks about the creation of the whole world and that God also made a garden.
Reread Genesis.

Reread Genesis.

Man was removed from the garden and not allowed back in.
So we are not there.

Reread Genesis.

As I mentioned, the earth is ancient according to scripture,
not young. I always revert to the fact that all the important
aspects of Christianity are written by multiple authors
in multiple books spread over time, new and old Testament.
A "young earth" fails that test.

Nobody wants to admit that a "young earth" is a fun concept
but a very convoluted process to support with scripture. It takes
almost a month to research every aspect of the "young earth"
time line starting with Adam. Even then, how old was Adam?

Please cite a few of those Scriptures.

You don't have to respond to these passages. No YEC ever does.
People claim a young earth is "plain reading" and ignore
the "plain reading" of an ancient earth actually found in scripture.

Deuteronomy 33:15 with the choicest gifts of the ancient mountains and
the fruitfulness of the everlasting hills ...

Habakkuk 3:6 He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made
... The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed-- but he marches
on forever. ... The age-old mountains break apart; the ancient hills sink down.

Genesis 49:26 Your father's blessings are greater than the ...
... The blessings of your father are greater than the blessings of the oldest
mountains and the riches of the ancient hills.

Psalm 76:4 You are radiant with light, more majestic than
the ancient mountains.

Micah 6:2 "Hear, you mountains, the LORD's accusation; listen, you everlasting
foundations of the earth.

I'm off to work. No time to reply in depth. I encourage you to do a word search and see how the word "ancient" was used throughout the OT. Here is one example;

Isaiah 19:11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counselors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?
Here, ancient simply means old, but not billions or even millions of years old.

I don't dispute that.
Genesis 1 talks about the 6 day creation of the whole earth and of the creation of a garden in that order.

As for the very poetic passages the key is they are poetic i.e. flowery discriptions, not statements of fact.
Genesis is written as prose, that is, in a strightforward many as it imparts historical fact.

I've done that. Now search for young earth
or any similar language
or concept.

Keep going now, note the context:

Micah 6:2 "Hear, you mountains, the LORD's accusation; listen, you everlasting

What makes you think it wasn't on earth?

If eden was in another dimension why would an angel with a flaming sword be needed to guard the entrance?

The creation days are epochs of time.

Epoch of time.

God said:

Genesis 2:17
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Genesis 3:5
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

After Adam ate the fruit, he continued to live for nearly a thousand years, until he finally died.

In Deuteronomy 33:15, the word for "everlasting" is "olam" meaning "long duration (past or future)". Since the hills were created at some point in time, they cannot be everlasting in the past. They can, however, last a long time in the future.

In Micah 6:2, the word for "everlasting" in your translation is "eythan" meaning "permanence". The KJV reads "strong" and the NASB reads "enduring". The earth's foundations certainly cannot be everlasting since they were created at some point in time. They can "endure" for a long time and are certainly "strong".

This is an interesting thread.
My take on your question is that before the Fall we perhaps lived kind of simultaneously on a physical earth, but could also move freely in the spiritual realm (or at least a part of it...the Garden). But since we fell, we are no longer able to do so...not of our own accord anyhow.
I am not saying this is right, of course. What do you think about that possibility?

Epoch of time.

Thus saith the sympathizers of evolution.

Adam began to physically die the moment he ate the fruit, but he spiritually died at that very moment. That is why Paul told the Colossians they were dead in their sins. Sin brings immediate spiritual death.
