Honestly, it's people like him who give the rest of us nice, normal Americans a bad reputation. He's an embarrassment.

LOL, well, since the twins didn't get kicked out tonight, I'll be pulling for them or Christie and Colin to use the fast forward.

Lord, please not Brandon and his beautiful hair.

Unfortunately, Colin & Christie will not be the ones - they already used their FF. I never thought of Brandon's hair, lol.
Well, then, I hope the twins.

We're down to 5 teams now? I really hope it's Brandon and Nicole or Chip and Kim...Chip's such a nice guy, just a tad goofy at times.

We get the amazing race here in Australia, but it doesn't seem to be popular here, and is put on late at night, which I think is a pity. I think it is the best reality show! Also, that is the only reality show I would ever consider applying for, with my husband of course!!!

I seriously hope that Brandon an Nicole don't go for the Fast Forward, because I don't think they'd cut their hair off for it. They ARE models, after all, and they probably need their hair to get work. I don't want to see them eliminated because they change their minds about doing a FF!
I hated how Colin was acting last night. Christie wasn't naggin him at all...telling him to pay the guy so they could get out of there and not get thrown in the slammer wasn't nagging. I don't see how she can put up with that.

I couldn't agree with you more. It's a shame.

Okay...onto my comments.

Colin, dangerous and apparently ignorant... Who in their right mind would expect people to act like Americans in another country??? I felt bad for Christy, I felt he put her in a dangerous position because of his own pride. And Christy, I couldn't believe she aplogized to him for getting upset that he might be thrown in jail and begging him to just pay the cab driver the money that was agreed to. I looked to my husband and said "No, she is not going to apologize to him" And then she did. Poor Christy. Colin created that scenario and then blamed her? And she believed him too. She must have a very distorted sense of her self worth. Kim was so right when she pointed out that he is so abusive to Christy. He has no honor.

I'm surprised that Colin and Christy came in first and won a trip to the Carribean. Seems like they shouldn't get a benefit after creating such ugliness. But knowing that one has nothing to do with the other, I don't begrudge them anything. What goes around comes around. People who create discord seldom end up peaceful and content in the end.

Very glad that the Bowling Moms are still in the race. They got a lucky break. It cracked me up how Linda baited Colin with her comment "Well Colin, did you get away with it? I'm so disappointed in you." She's great. Actually they both are. Has anyone but me noticed that they haven't been shown in a bad light, gotten angry or ugly with or about anyone? I think that's so admirable considering how stressful it must be for them.

The twins look so emaciated...don't they ever eat or rest? Their little scarecrow bodies are beginning to worry me. They got lucky with the non-elimination.

Chip and Kim...I like Chips attitude. It's very similar to my own. It's very buddhist. He was right in what he and Brandon were trying to get across to Nicole. But she did say much of what we said in this thread. It isn't right that people should take advantage of people just because they are American...but sometimes that's how it is, and it being right or wrong doesn't change anything. When in Rome...

I'm looking forward to next week's episode. I wonder if anyone will take the Fast Forward. They don't have to take it. I get what you're saying about if it were Chip and Kim that they're half way there with the shaving. But, African American hair doesn't grow very fast at all. So I kind of hope it's not them. Colin and Christy already took a F.F. so it won't be them. Too bad the all guy team went home already. I can see a woman being okay with having very very short hair...but shaving?

Okay...I talk too much. As my youngest daughter would say :"When you talk all I hear is "blah, blah, blah" " She such a character...she's 6.

Again, I'm still hoping soley for Chip and Kim at this point.
Great observation by Wisdom Seeker with the "buddhist" approach of giving out good "karma" to others, you will get it back to you. (Ala also the Golden Rule, Bible, etc). Since I've been criticized for wanting this couple to win simply because I've observed how they're caring, devout Christians. That's not entirely it. They are simply nice, loving, good-natured people who deserve to win.

Brandon & Nicole - whiny & immature. They, too, profess their "Christian charitable" beliefs, but then Nicole purposely threw the money on the ground for that bus driver to pick up and stormed away. Yes, the driver was SO wrong in asking for that high amount, but it IS a poor country & the Americans are GUESTS, not royalty. Now what's happened? They are doing poorly with money & almost out. Bad karma came back to them...right, Wisdomseeker?

...Which leads me to Colin & Christie. Again, I don't think the locals care whether someone is in a "televised race" and needs to be "first" - they just want to be paid, people. He didn't know his tire would blow out & most likely didn't have enough money at the moment to buy a brand, new tire or he would have replaced the spare. Again, POORER countries don't have "OSHA" standards, Colin!! Wear a nice cross for all to see around your neck, and have no sense of Christian charity. (Although he IS the one who thought JESUS was the biblical "prodigal son"??Duh!). Hmmm...I guess he wears the necklace for "fashion". THEN, he waves his hand in front of a police officer's face and disrespects HIM. He's lucky he had a camera crew & witnesses. Had he treated officers like that in other remote countries, or some seedier parts of Mexico, we may have never heard from him again! He needs to go, period. She needs to totally dump him & get some self-esteem, and self-respect. If they do end up winning, I hope she takes her share of the money and RUNS far away from him.

Bowling Moms? Admire their drive, but VERY rude to locals as well. Sorry. I can't put my finger on it - they come across as so "holier than thou" with the local people. It bugs me.

Twins? *See Brandon/Nicole comments above* ha-ha! Whiny & immature. I was thinking how nice it was that they stopped for Colin/Christie (though he didn't deserve it), and then they blew past the Bowling Moms, shrugged their shoulders, and stated that "well, we're not AAA". (Ok, I admit. That WAS sorta funny!). By blowing off the Moms, they found themselves in last place. Again, karma???

Meanwhile, Chip MIRACULOUSLY has financial help to pay his cab driver - his VERY nice cab driver that he was respectful towards & even HUGGED. (That was cute). I'm also thinking the cameraman helped them out with a little dough, what do you guys think?

Next week should be interesting....who would look good bald???? LOL!!

Well, Nicole and Brandon are beautiful people...they just might be able to pull off the bald heads. But, you're right, I'm not sure if they'd take it or not. Kim and Chip might do it...she does have her scarves. I think the Bowling moms might be up for it. I think no way would the twins do it. But they're starting out with no money next time (and did Phil take their shoes, too, or am I seeing things??), they're going to be behind everyone else. If they want to stay in it, they just might have no choice.

Colin behaved like a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum last night. I don't know what shocked me more, his behavior or Christy putting up with it.
The twins are starting to look like Pez dispensers. I don't mean that in an unkind way, I just think they need to relax for a minute and grab a decent meal or two or ten.
Still enjoy Chip and Kim very much. They seem to be having such a good time.
The Bowling moms were hilarious, especially when talking to the camel and baiting Colin. LOL!!
I think Brandon and Nicole might just win this thing. If Colin can't keep it together I think it's anyone's race. I'm still rooting for Chip and Kim or the Bowling moms but right now as long as Colin doesn't win I'll be happy. LOL!!

I get the impression that you are ridiculing me. I find that very amusing actually. I never once mentioned "Karma".

I've actually studied many religions and this theology is common among a surprising number of them. I editted before posting my comments earlier that although this is a Christian theology, it is seldom the testimony of Christians. It is also a Hindu and Muslim theology by the way. I apologize if my manner of speaking offended you. Half of my family is Buddhist and saying that Chips attitude was "like mine" and "very buddhist" was my way of identifying.

Bowling Moms? ... VERY rude to locals as well. Sorry. I can't put my finger on it - they come across as so "holier than thou" with the local people. It bugs me.
I disagree. They always say "please" and "thank you". They keep their temperment even, 99% of the time. They even try to make light of their disapointments and the trials along the way with a sense of humor. Only once did they get upset at someone for saying one thing and then doing another, and even then their response was not disproportionate. Colin would have probably cussed the guy out, yelled at Christy, and then had the guy calling the authorities. If you don't like them, you don't like them. It just seems that your reasons are easily refutable.

I like the moms, too. They're in general, pretty nice to the other contestants and the locals. And they're practically always supportive of each other. You can really tell the healthy relationships on the show...Kim and Chip, the Bowling Moms, the brothers, and even Brandon and Nicole...even though they bicker a little every now and then, you never hear them disrespecting each other. I really admire that...being in such a stressful situation and not taking it out on each other. It really shows the depth of the relationships, I think.

I can't believe I totally spaced out last night episode!!!! Guess I will have to try and remember about reruns on saturdays!!!!

Don't forget! Last week I almost had "Colin" moment when I got home Sunday morning from work. On Tuesday I had set my VCR, but didn't check the amount of tape I had and only recorded the first ten minutes. So on Saturday, I double checked my tape, TV guide and everything else I could to make sure I recorded the replay.

Sunday morning, I go shopping and race home after work, unload my car, feed the cats, rewind the tape and settle down to enjoy the episode only to see a Cowboys pregame show. My stupid CBS affiliate aired the Cowboys preseason game, and moved TAR to their UPN sister affiliate. They had to have known for months and would have had time to notify TV Guide of the change.

So I missed last weeks episode.

Thankfully my work days are flipped every other week, so this week I watched it Tuesday, and will be able to enjoy it again on Saturday.

Colin, you stink, and I'm afriad we might have a Flo repeat at the finish line, just with more yelling and less whining. Even though they probably don't need the money, I'm pulling for Cliff and Claire, er.. Chip and Kim, with my back up being the Bowling Moms.

I agree, Colin is a mess! He wouldn't have dared try that stunt in America with not paying the cab fare. All of that ugliness for nothing. I was glad he didn't get away with it and wish had had to spend the night in jail. Who does he think he is? LOL!

And then next week it looks like he went off again on someone, he's going to explode and have a full melt down if he doesn't get eliminated first. As the pressure and fatigue sets in, he's only going to get worse, this is a good way for Christy to see who Colin really is while under pressure. I so much hope he doesn't win.

Yeah with the twins, I think with all the running around, they forget to eat.

I agree that it was wrong of Nicole to throw the money on the ground in the other episode, another thing no one would have tried in America with an American cabbie. They shouldn't go to other places thinking that being American makes them better, those people are poor and need that money.

And about the donut, Colin should have realized that those people don't have the luxary of driving perfect cabs all the time, the man could have gotten a flat and used the donut just prior to going to pick them up. Then with Colin yelling at him to go faster because other teams were passing them, then he gets mad when the donut blows. And in the end he still didn't lose a position because they all ended up bunched up at the airport so he needed to just drop it and relax while waiting for the next plane. Colin just thought he could bully that man around because he's American but he got put in his place. If I was Christy I would have left him there and acted like I didn't even know him. LOL!

Oh no! Not at all - I'm really ridiculing USIncognito (lol! )who thinks I only want Chip/Kim to win because they're Christians. I was trying to show a "non-Christian" look at why they deserve to win - you just helped me out GREATLY is all.

I agree about the Moms to a point. They still yelled at the cab driver that went to the wrong airport (which was upsetting, yes, but they still shouldn't treat the poor guy like that) & I guess I don't like them constantly yelling at the other drivers & the camel-puller, "Faster, hurry up, hurry UP"! I'm sorry, I guessing I'm missing where they say a "please" and a "thank you" in there somewhere? They ARE "moms" & that's what I teach my kids everyday. I know the rest of the teams can act like this sometimes, too, but for some reason the Moms just bug me a bit more? Like I said, I can't quite put my finger on why. If they beat Colin/Christie, I'll be happy though.

At any rate, thanks for the follow-up post on the Buddhist/Muslim/Hindu commentary. No worries, you're totally cool!
