Questions to ask are, What do you believe? and What evidence do you have for that?

Yes they will often talk over you, not listen, have fancy arguments and are better with words.
So what. Your standing firm on the truth of the gospel inspite of there eloquence, your peace and asurance rattles atheists.

After all if there is no God, our belief in God is meaningless, something to laugh off, but they can't.
They know there is a God, they won't admit it.

So stand firm in what you elief, witness to it and pray for them.

Yea... I am a sinner all right. And my worse sins came from hanging around the wrong people. If I could go back in time my first priority would be to hang around the right kind of people.

Some few people , we hope anyway, are blessed with parent/s/ who raise them in the way they should live. When they are older they will not depart far from the right way. Being born to the right kind of people is not exactly a choice given ,
and some might argue , or not, that being born again is not exactly a choice either . "By the Will of the Father, not by a choice of the flesh, nor by the will of man, .... " Yahweh in His Infinite Wisdom, Purpose, Plan, Mercy, Perfect in Every Way, knows everything, knows what He Is Doing, and reveals this to little children in His Good Pleasure, while hiding this from educated ones as this also is His Good Pleasure.

I was in our local Wednesday morning Bible study back in December where a bunch of us meet for bible study and coffee. I gave a brief account of my idea of the seven churches and paused and said, "I wish I could have met some Messianics personally." The leader of the Bible study said, "There's one sitting next to you!" Apparently I had a retired Messianic who we call, "Professor Richard" who was sitting next to me all along. Wonderful man! I want to get into the study with him on why the Messianic congregation almost disappeared entirely after the fall of Jerusalem in 70AD.
