There is very little in Revelation that is not a regurgitation from the OT, prophesy extended; the same can be said of the teachings of Christ. The future can be predicted from the past because history repeats itself. The powers that be know this and that is why they rewrite history intending to change the future; this ties in with Daniel's prophesy - they will change laws and times. But I get your point; why does Go not only tell us once; why does He tell us over and over, keep the Law, enter in to the covenant; I believe it is so when all is said and done and the wicked are burnt like chaff, God will be blameless.

It is through the fulfilment of Prophesy that God and His covenant and creation is confirmed and because prophesy extends to eternity it keeps the whole thing alive; If I didn't see prophesy fulfilled daily my view of reality would be different.

The Bible and the covenant is to do with Israel; but important to note is the Jews today are not Israel for many reasons; one reason is depending on which Jew is counting, there are between 15 million and 50 million Jews world wide; prophesy says Israel numbers the sands of the sea; also Ismael numbers the sand of the sea; certainly more than 50 million. Further, the Israel of God are those who enter into the covenant.

You use "Historism" differently to me; my use is simplistic; Historism isn't Biblical, it became a useful distinction when the Papacy created the save the Pope doctrines called Preterism and Futurism.
