CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Good morning to all!!
Home schooling today after a long weekend and my son and I are both a bit on the slow side. lol. It's always hard on Mondays, even moreso after a long weekend. How was everyone's weekend by the way?

I am a floor supervisor/customer service clerk in a grocery store. I also run a register, do payroll, human resources, gopher, etc! It can be really interesting! I prefer it when it is busy, cuz I get really bored when there are no customers!

My Aunt does the same thing you do. She lives in Florida. I worked in retail for 12 years and I know what you mean about it being best when it's busy.

the job I liked the best was working as a cashier in a grocery store.
I am currently a bookkeeper, which I am not especially thrilled with. I am not a math minded person AT ALL.

Hi HisKid, I did both before, and did not particularly like either. Oooh, bookkeeper is tough for a non-mathie.
I love words, and loved typing letters and filing more.
Still, the arts drew me before I had my kids.
Now, Mommy is my title.

Yeah the job was advertised as a secretary (my 2nd fav job I had). I didn't have great training- it was kinda like this is the way it's been done for 40 years. I need to know why is it done this way, ect. That is the kind of thinker I am.
The lady there before me had been there 34 yrs. So, some of the frustration the owner has with me is caused because he doesn't know the job and depended on her for everything, and now she isn't there, it makes me look even more incompetent than I am. The job is a real struggle for me as well, frustration because I am just supposed to KNOW this stuff.
I feel like I was honest about my capabilities, but maybe they weren't completely honest about the job description! It's a very small company, only 9 employees, I am the only female. Luckly I do Accts receivables only.
The pay is good and it's only a morning job, which is one of the reasons I stay. But let me tell you, when I don't work there anymore, I will NOT go into this type of work ever again. The owner is not is the best of health and he is almost 70 years old, his kids aren't part of the business, so I suspect that the business will close should something happen to him.

Yeah, real tough walking into a position held by one person for a long time; they get used to the way the previous person did things.
I don't envy you at all, but I sure will lift up a prayer for you about this.
Maybe things will start to smooth out.
