The 23rd Psalm -Explained

[The Simple Plan]

This is an Oldie but a Goodie. Maybe you never thought about it nor looked at this Psalm in this way, even though we say it over and over again.
 
The Lord is my Shepherd -----That's Relationship!
I shall not want ----- That's Supply!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures --- That's Rest!
He leadeth me beside the still waters ----- That's Refreshment!
He restoreth my soul ----- That's Healing!
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness --- That's Guidance!
For His name sake ----- That's Purpose!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death ---That's Testing!
 
I will fear no evil ----- That's Protection!
For Thou art with me -----That's Faithfulness!
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me -----That's Discipline!
 
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies----- That's Hope!
 
Thou annointest my head with oil ----That's Consecration!
My cup runneth over ----- That's Abundance!
 
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life---- That's Blessing!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord -----That's Security!
Forever -----That's Eternity!

Someone replied to me that these are the names for God in accordance with this Psalm. WOW!!!

The Lord is my Shepherd -----Jehovah Ra-ah
I shall not want ----- Jehovah Jireh
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures --- Jehovah Nisi
He leadeth me beside the still waters ----- Jehovah Shalom
He restoreth my soul -----Jehovah Rapha
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness --- Jehovah Tsidkenu
For His name sake
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death ---Jehovah Elohim

I will fear no evil For Thou art with me ----- Jehovah Shammah
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me -----Jehovah Elyon
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies-----Jehovah Sabaoth
Thou annointest my head with oil ----Jehovah M'Kaddesh
My cup runneth over -----Jehovah Eloheka
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life---- Jehovah Adonai
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever

Being the senior citizen of this place, it seems not much I haven't seen. But the truth is I have not seen the Name treatment before, though I wrote one similar once, I don't think I ever posted it anywhere. Wish that I had. The study of God's names and thier meaning is more than a little fascinating. In fact the meaning of Biblical names is absolutely spell binding.
