The 11th Commandment?

If you had the opportunity to add an 11th commandment to the set of commandments, what would it be and why?

I KNOW somebody is going to try clowning around, please dont, seriously

I know the mockers don't care, but I would certainly hope that the Christians here would have too much reverence for God's word to believe that they can add to it.

Well as a dirty little heathen, I'd add "love they neighbor as thyself, and preach love and compassion, not hatred". The golden rule works too though.

This is just for funsies and theoretical, no one is actually advocating for an addendum to the 10 commandments. So dont be a stick in the mud and tell us your answer

LOL at " Thou shalt not quote scripture". :-D

I would add an 11th at said "Thou shalt not proclaim to know the 'Truth' about the Divine or how everything in the universe works." It bugs me when people do that.

I would add an addendum to the first commandment: thou shalt have no other Gods before me, and you shalt remember that *I* am God, not you, and shalt behave accordingly.

i think buddha shakyamuni put it best: Do not believe based on what you are told. Do not believe because i tell you. do not believe because the holy men tell you to. Do not believe for any external reason, but believe because you fell it to be the right thing.

Very short and paraphrased, i can try and find the full version if anyone would like to see it.

That's just the point. God's word is holy and should not be used for sport.

Being reverent and respectful is not the same thing as being a stick in the mud.

There are a lot of ways to have a good time without degrading God's word.

hmm well i found the 'original' version but it is nothing like the phrase as i heard it the first time. here is the original verson:

Do not go upon what has been acquired by repeated hearing ;
nor upon tradition

nor upon specious reasoning;
nor upon a bias towards a notion that has been pondered over;
