Yep. Elijah ascended. It was Solomon's temple.I am not sure if this is referring to the destruction of Solomon's Temple or Herod's 2nd Temple.
For now, I am going with the Babylonian conquest of Jerusalem and the Temple.
Any one have a view on it?
8. And after that, in the sixth week, all who live in it shall be blinded,
And the hearts of all of them shall godlessly forsake wisdom.
And in it a man shall ascend;
and at it’s close the house of dominion shall be burnt with fire, And the race of the chosen root shall be dispersed.
Siege of Jerusalem (587 BC) - Wikipedia
In 589 BC, Nebuchadnezzar II laid siege to Jerusalem, culminating in the destruction of the city and its temple in the summer of 587 or 586 BC.............
After the fall of Jerusalem, the Babylonian general, Nebuzaraddan, was sent to complete its destruction. Jerusalem was plundered, and Solomon's Temple was destroyed.
Most of the elite were taken into captivity in Babylon.
The city was razed to the ground. Only a few people were permitted to remain to tend to the land.
The Jew Gedaliah was made governor of the remnant of Judah, the Yehud Province, with a Chaldean guard stationed at Mizpah.[7]
The Bible reports that, on hearing this news, Jews who had fled to Moab, Ammon, Edom, and in other countries returned to Judah.[8]
Sounds good. May we assume, then, that the parts of "Enoch" that are important are those included in canonical Scripture, and those not included are not? If so, then we are in agreement.
Good points. Where was "Enoch", and in what form, until it surfaced some centuries after the presumed author had left?
Q: The 10 weeks of Enoch, inspired or not?10 week prophecy mentioned in that book
But week 7 has already lasted nearly 2,000 years? The thing about the ten weeks is that they are 700 years long, each. A week of 700 years, and ten of them, making 7,000 years, would seem to coincide with the 7,000 year week of 1,000 year "days", with the last being a Sabbath Millennium, but it has a total "stop" after Jesus ascends, and the Church age -the age of the Gentiles coming into Christ by the preaching of the Gospel- is not measured, and has a known beginning and an unknown end, but that end is marked by the rapture and tribulation, which is when the signs begin again that Enoch writes of in his parable of the ten weeks. Then the 700 year weeks begin to be numbered in the calendar of heaven, again. They overlap into the "New Beginning", which is that regeneration of all things and them made new, which happens on "the 8th Day, that Great Day", signed in the Feast of Tabernacles.
Earth, regenerated in an instant with the heavens by the atomic elemental dissolving and regeneration of all things, will go on forever and forever, in it's restored form, but in the New Creation there will be no "Adam" seed/souls born, for Adam seed is totally cut off in the 8th day, as circumcision given to the seed of Abraham through Isaac, is the sign of.
A thousand years of thousand year days will be the life span of the souls born on earth forever, and forever, before they are transformed to the glory and take their places in the heavens, with the angels, ruling and reigning from there, with Christ/God the Creator come in flesh of the New Creation Man name, as Kinsman/Redeemer, to ransom the earth back for it's original purpose; but in the New Name, not in the old Adam name. The Israel of God is that name, and He is the Firstborn of the New Man Creation human being Name, and the earth which He ransomed back to Himself will belong to Him, who is the High King and High Priest of it, forever and forever.
I enjoy reading your posts. Your posts remind me of the passage<snip>Earth, regenerated in an instant with the heavens by the atomic elemental dissolving and regeneration of all things, will go on forever and forever, in it's restored form, but in the New Creation there will be no "Adam" seed/souls born, for Adam seed is totally cut off in the 8th day, as circumcision given to the seed of Abraham through Isaac, is the sign of.

I like people who are into unraveling the puzzles God has put into the Scriptures. He must love to see people devote themselves to it! One thing that tethers my enthusiasm though is you do not cite your sources. I'm a Berean skeptic and would like to know from where you're digging your gold so I can decide whether I can add it to my own trove.Jesus ben Sirach said:He who devotes himself to the study of the law of the Most High
will seek out the wisdom of all the ancients, and
will be concerned with prophecies; he
will preserve the discourse of notable men and
penetrate the subtleties of parables; he
will seek out the hidden meanings of proverbs and
be at home with the obscurities of parables. (39:1-3)
Well, I have to go back and read it again, but it is ended and the calendar measuring them is on a "stop", during this period of the Church age. It begins again after the Church is " removed from the midst of the earth", and the signs begin again that mark the restoration of Israel, and the Great Tribulation. But week 7 has already lasted nearly 2,000 years?
We are reading Sirach a chapter a day at this time, along with our regular daily reading of the Word, and just did chapter 39 last week. I thought about that very passage and the parts describing the labors of all. Hubby and I discussed how God puts it in the heart of every human being to do the work they do, and that makes the world run smoothly. I love to read, and love the histories related to the Word. I've told my family to look for me in the library in heaven, and NOT in the kitchen. I've always cooked to feed the family, but it isn't in my heart to love doing itI enjoy reading your posts. Do you actually think that Joseph married Mary, accepted her pregnancy and did not go public with it, married her and spent the rest of his days celibate?
In those days marriage was not just because you loved the person and wished to spend a life together and provide for them...Yes. Talking to angels will do that sort of thing to a man.
Not to mention... there is no way that he would have remained celibate for all those years.
Celibate as in "no woman"? Sure he could. Men have lived without women all over the world for their whole lives.
Celibate as in "no masturbation"? No reason to believe that.
Not to derail the thread, but since there are 66 books in the Bible,I do think it might be and just like I believe there are more than 66 books in the Bible
Oh not, thank you though. In all 66 books of the Bible, trusting one's own instincts is said to be wrong (by God Himself, His Spirit and His Word) . A man's own heart is most deceptive, etc etc ... Trust God always, and lean not on your own understanding.... etc etc ....I trust my instincts, thank you very much.
Good. To start with.Thank you for your post, but like you and others, I still have more questions than answers about the writings of Enoch.
I hardly think so.
Not to derail the thread, but since there are 66 books in the Bible,
well, believing otherwise can't and won't change that, will it ? (just seemed odd to me) I mean what good would believing other than it is do ?
