I was head over heels for the Monkees!! I use to watch their show every chance I got. I was even a member of their fan club! I've been listening to them since I was 12 years old. I probably know the words to every one of their songs. In 1996, my DH took me to see Mickey, Davy and Peter in OKC. It was their 30th Anniversary Tour. The Turtles opened for them. It was awesome and I was right up front, too. There were people of all ages. There were hippies there who were never told Woodstock was over! My DH took me to see them twice, but the next time it was just Mickey and Davy. I saw Davy in OKC a few years ago. I got to meet him, shake his hand and get his autograph. I took a picture of him while he was onstage performing. He smiled and waved at my camera. I was star struck, I admit it! I was a Monkeemaniac - sad but true. I still turn the radio up when one of their songs is played on the oldies station I listen to.
