  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Movies are great. Hallmark channel is good. I like TCM. Lots of classics with Bogie. Cassablanca, To Have and Have Not... anything with Bogart.

We're so blessed. Eating great food with family together. Doesn't get much better.

I agree. Casablanca is one the best films of all time, which is why we have the DVD.

TCM and AMC are my faves. I got to watch Rebecca all the way through last week on TCM; what an amazing story and film. Joan Fontaine gave one of the best performances I've ever seen by an actress.

Why did It's a Wonderful Life stop being shown as it once was, anyway? There should be a law requiring it to be shown a minimum of once a day between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve. ;)

I agree. Jimmy Stewart & Donna Reed. That was a great film. I could watch it a couple times a week and not get bored.

Steve has a Thanksgiving rep thread going on, and I don't want to step on his toes, but we don't get Thanksgiving here and it seems like SUCH a lovely, Autumny, cosy time of year, so I was wondering what it means to you? What does it make you think of? What do you eat? Is it as big as Christmas?

Do you have any nice Thanksgiving stories?

Thank you berry much

Thanksgiving is the one holiday a year that Christians in this country openly and brazenly engage in the sin of gluttony and do not feel the need to repent for it. ^_^

I would not say Thankgiving is as big as Christmas, but it is close, might be as big as New Years Eve.
Thanksgiving is about getting together with family and being thankful, a nice dinner with the family, we used to get together with the extended family on my Moms side of the family but after my Uncle died, my Aunt and her kids just kinda do their own thing (my mom is the middle child). The Last couple of years we have gone over to a friend of the families and their adult children sometimes come too.
We have turkey and dressing or stuffing, cooked carrots, salad, rolls, greens
