CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

for saving my soul
for leaving us His precious word,for daily food and spiritual growth
for blessing me with another day[I do this every morning before getting up]
for my church family that I love so much
for my best friend Mary, of 37 years
that I was blessed with a very good marriage of 30 years,even though I am a widow now
that He has given me the grace to be content with my singleness
for filling me with His joy and peace that passes all understanding
for the love for Him that He has blessed me with
for those indescribable times that He has touched me and spoken to me
for giving me a curious mind ,and a love for reading,and learning
for all the wonderful messages in Christian,songs and books
for all the beauty in His creation and for blessing me with the ability to appreciate it.
for loving family and friends
for the new good friends that I am meeting here on this site
for a Christian forum such as this that has a positive spirit,not like another that I know of that unfortunately has a very negative spirit
May Jesus show through everyone here today

Cultivate gratitude ~ A very good practice
I am thankful for my Beloved whom I have been with for 34 years.
A comfortable bed with warm blankets
a roof over my head
trees outside my window
all my body parts are functioning
paticiapating in every day human life
driving my car down broadway and seeing people going about their daily business
Human emotions
Soundness of mind

each year our community groups get together at church for "dinner and a movie" night in December, and we always screen an old fashioned Christmas movie.
this year I'm going to suggest that we see "I'ts a Wonderful Life".

they keep me company.
I'm greatful for vitamin C, egg drop soup, and warm sox.

That's funny. I'm directing the school play again this year. We are doing, "It's a wonderful life!" This is our second time around performing it.
I just love that movie! I always cry at the same moment, when George runs up on the bridge. "I don't care what happens to me God. Just get me back to my wife and kids." And it starts to snow. Waaaaaaaaahhhh!

Greatful today for the opportunities God gives us to serve our fellow Christians behind the scenes, as well as those who are not yet "in the family".
I know we don't often stop to think of it, but there is a whole lot of 'hidden' serving that happens during the week out of our eyesight.
so thanks to God for the garbage collectors, the dishwashers, the factory workers, the power plant workers, the computer programers who make possible all those traffic webcams, and the patrolmen and women on their beat at 3 am.
thanks to church secretaries, children's workers, choir directors, janitors, and people who work in the pulp mills making our paper.
I know we don't often stop to think of it, but there is a whole lot of 'hidden' serving that happens during the week out of our eyesight.
