I don't post on here that often, but I always read other's posts. I just wanted to stop by and say thanks to everyone who is on the childfree board! I am so glad this board is here.

So often in my real life I feel like the odd one out. (I'm sure you can all relate) I love all my friends dearly, but it is so hard being the "one without kids". My friends don't intentionally make me feel that way, but I just naturally do. I can't relate to their conversations. It's hard socializing with my friends, especially in groups.

I've decided to start praying that God would bring us some friends who are also childfree. I'm sure there must be others in our area wishing they didn't feel so alone in their childfree choice.

I've even thought about attempting to organize a local Childfree group, but I have no idea how I would go about it.

Does anyone have any experience organizing such a group? Have any of you ever prayed specifically for childfree friends? Did God answer your prayer?

Anyway, thanks again to all of you for being here!

Your welcome! :)

Feeling alone can be a problem. I'll be going away to the Uni of Idaho (I got accepted! I'm not stupid after all! :)) next year...wonder if I could start a childfree...something. I don't much like the idea of a childfree group per-say, just being childfree doesn't necessarily guarantee social compatibility. But I'd be nice to have some sort of...sign maybe. Something that you could wear and that others could see and know that they're not alone. Childfree T-Shirt ideas, anyone?

Contact No Kidding. www.nokidding.org. They have resources to help you start a chapter in your area. I'm going to do one in Springfield, Illinois one of these days. BTW, if you live in a major city odds are there's already one in your area.

No, but I admire your desire to so so. And I would love to be a part of something like that.

I was getting ready to go look for this link when I saw Homie's post. It's a great idea.

I am very thankful for this board and the people who post here. This is one of my favorite places to be in the internet. So I just want to thank y'all too for making it what it is.

And Command, congratulations on getting into university!

I've never specifically asked God to send childfree friends my way, but I don't see why you shouldn't. Or why you shouldn't start a group! I've been meaning to look into something like that where I live, but until then I have this forum :D

Childfree T-Shirt ideas, anyone?
