• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that has helped me on here. I would have a nervous breakdown if I didn’t have you all. I love and thank you all SO much. I’m still struggling and hoping I haven’t committed the unforgivable sin…but I don’ think that God would allow someone to come to him if they had. I’ve been reading some pages about God’s love for me…I think I have a harsh view of God and I want that to change because I want to love him. I’m going to church for the first time in long time in the morning so please pray that something in that sermon will touch me and help me. (I talked to the pastor and he says it should.) I feel like I don’t say thanks enough…I just ramble and worry.:hug:

its oookk thats what we are here for... we help each other and we have been where you are....just take it one day at a time sweetie.... its all going to be fine... GOD wants a relationship with you.... no matter what.. try and remember that NO MATTER WHAT.... if you come to HIM(which you are ) HE WONT THROW YOU OUT... in your journey as you learn more and more ( called renewing your mind) you will grow to love HIM, and not fear HIM like you do...dont ecpect it overnite... its day by day and the journey never ends.... NO ONE has it all figured out.... thres alot i absolutely dont understand... but i choose to believe in HIM and trust HIM anyways... and follow HIM, even when i dont particularly feel like it....

remember you CANT rely on feelings....... especially ith ocd ... they will deceive you and make you think you are the worst person, and it might work for everyone else... but not you.....
.and thats simply not true....
but, with that being said... maybe GOD is also talking to you and wanting a deeper relationship[ with you.... HE can and will work thru this with you if you let HIM...

Caty, I think you do have a harsh view of God and this is common with those of us that struggle with OCD. It causes us to focus on the holy side of God and get it out of balance with all the multitude of scripture which speaks of his lovingkindness and patience and mercy to us. I'm glad you think we have been helpful to you here. Most all of us has been where you are and we understand what you're feeling.

Psalm 103 is a good psalm to read an meditate on about God's love.
