Haven't you seen all the restaurants and other small businesses that go to church on Sunday? It's probably why they need such big buildings, to fit all the other smaller buildings in.

It was not an interview. It was a public school board meeting that was recorded. I've posted the video and given the relevant time marker for what the trustee said on the topic.

I don't see where the child said what was disturbing about it. A six year-old could be bothered by an image without it having anything to do with whatever message it is conveying. An image of a bunch of dismembered hands, like the one shown in post #4, might just simply look creepy to a six...

We had gotten to discussing principles that dont rely on this or that classroom poster. At least I think so. I had asked for clarification on a rather cryptic post, but never got it.

I see now. She used that as an example of how parents have ended up in an uproar, that caused the school to move the child to another class, thereby she's calling for the board to draft a standard that complies with the law.

According to the superintendent, the schools are already complying with the law. The wrongness is the idea that 'all belong here' is a political ideology, and the trustee wants to further expand the application of the law to things as anodyne as this message that should properly be part of civics instruction, not banned as ideology.

Where did she say that?

She used the example of where one school compromised to make an exception, rather than adhere to a standard; apprently because there is no standard in place. School principles are generally not attorneys. I say let the board draft a standard, and let the attorneys review it. When parents come in and demand that the law be followed; the principle can provide them with a copy of the standard policy. If they have a problem with the policy; then they can hire an attorney, and take the ISD to court. I think that is a better solution than calling a principle to interpret the law, and thereby putting him in a position where he could be personally sued.

They are reading what their children are subject to and are a demonstration for us that its inappropriate in the presense of adults (let alone children)

The discussion seemed to center around “how do we fully comply with state law without micromanaging each and every poster or item that might cause a problem”?

They talked for about 15 minutes and seemed to have reached a consensus that the ISD was fully compliant with State law and everything was fine and dandy.

I too enjoy just saying things (off topic apparently) that I have no interest in backing up in any way.

You could just google (I use duckduckgo, for less censorship) the words, " parents read PQRN school board" just drop the letter Q and replace with O. You should see some from various states, from Florida, Georgia etc. There was one with a young boy reading what he was subject to.

I find it difficult to give someone a way to finding information. Like if you are talking PQRN the word itself is censored here and "inappropriate content" isnt going to convey what it is I am talking about when the word is censored. On the otherhand I also dont have a facebook account so I cant even look in, and Twitter (now X) where I used to find some of the better links/info in various sources has shut me out with a "page not working too many redirects" which started soon after Tucker Carlson moved from Fox to Twitter strangely enough. I think they want people to have an account? You cant post anything you find on BlT-Chute because the links there get censored here and if you use tiny ulr to post to there (to get around that) you will get a strike here for any inappropriate side bar videos that show up on the right side (like they do over at youtube). You can get a Youtube t embed without that sidebar but you cant on that platform and I find the whole thing crazy. And I dont know how to post a video that is supposedly over at instagram or Tik tok because I have no instagram, tik tok or any other accounts. I have to go to Gab social because they are the only platform not censoring and often have some great info. Gab doesnt block people who do not have a membership but I think this place might have a bird if I linked to Gab.

If you were say talking about a specific event it would be fairly easy to just name or give a reference to the meeting and date.

So, no it's not that hard to tell people exactly what you are talking about without breaking any of the forums rules.

The keywords are PARENTS MIC, PQRN. and SCHOOL BOARDS which is just as easy to toss into a search bar and see what comes up. if I used those, just run with my own words and give it a gander, these were viral events they were not hid off in some corner. If I post something from Fox it will likely be rejected so I try to grab a link from various outlets and when I posted only 1 out of 3 linked appropriately because it censors the news stories here because of the WORD PQRN (which is how the news runs it). Its a pain in the rear.
