In final edits leading up to the vote, conservatives rejected language to modernize the classification of historic periods to B.C.E. and C.E. from the traditional B.C. and A.D. They also required that public school students in Texas evaluate efforts by global organizations such as the United Nations to undermine U.S. sovereignty.
I looked up what these abbreviations mean and here is what I found.
These two abbreviations are being used by secularists to replace B.C and A.D. The abbreviation B.C.E. means "Before the Common Era" and C.E. means "Common Era." The expression B.C. is the abbreviation for "before Christ." "A.D." - "Anno Domini" - is Latin and means "in the year of Our Lord."
