  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Actually, to the contrary, Christians maintain that God's existence has everything to do with morality!

Why? You may be asking. The fact of the matter is that a purely naturalistic explanation for the universe cannot account for the existence of what we know to be "morality". I challenge any one of you to come up with a plausible explanation as to how sheer matter can produce the "immaterial" concept of morality.

That is just another God-of-the-Gaps. The fact of the matter is that positing a God does not account for the existence of "morality" either. It merely gives you some kind of illusion of knowledge. I am not going to challenge you to come up with a plausible explanation for morality, because I full well know that you don't have anything to offer.

Christians say a lot of things. But this claim, like many of them, has nothing to back it up so it can be dismissed out of hand.

Until you prove that there's more to our minds than matter, the proof is all around you in every single living human being.
