How do you feel about making the temporary protocol found here a permanent solution? This allows only theistic evolutionists to post in the Theistic Evolutionism forum. As I understand it, most were against it. Is this still true?

Please only TE members vote in this poll.

I voted to remove the protocol. I welcome posts from non-TEs.

I want to emphasize that I would want the current protocol removed from the TE forum even if creationist prefer keeping it on their forum.

A desire for a more restrictive protocol in a different sub-forum (should the voting go that way) is not a valid reason to impose similar restrictions where they are not wanted (if the voting here shows that to be the case).

I was against it being forced upon the TE subforum because a problem in the OT forum in the first place.

I did not care for the creation of the subforums in the first place, I feel they are against the idea of bringing people together to exchange ideas and form even more divisions in the body of this forum.

If we are to have a TE subforum, then let the TE's have a voice in the rules that govern it, do not tie our hands because some other subforum is having problems.

I would even like to see this forum opened to all, believers or not, TEs or not, or at least a few threads that are open to all.

I agree that the protocol should be removed. One thing though. I think I've been assuming that TEs are not allowed to be criticized here, because that is the policy concerning the Creationist subforum. Am I right in that assumption, or not? And is that going to change any time soon?

Our poll:
100% in favor of opening the TE sub-forum up to creationists.

The Creationists' poll:
0% in favor of opening the Creationist sub-forum up to TEs.

THIS IS TELLING.
Just goes to show you they can't handle criticism from anyone else, even other Christians because they have nothing to support their beliefs other than an erroneous interpretation. I think it's rather sad that they want to be so walled off from everyone else.

Then again:

Read the "Pharisees and Sadducees" thread in their forum. It is interesting to see people who seem so close-minded on an open forum reveal themselves to actually be somewhat open. That's hard to do when you feel you're defending yourself against attacks.

I'm all in support of them keeping their forum, and interested in reading it (only) now and then, if nothing else to remind me that most creationist types are good, honest Christians seeking God's will in their lives.

(albeit deluded. ;) )

Please keep this limited to policy discussions.

Thanks.
Policy discussions are very important to the discussion of policy at Christian Forums. In fact, without policy discussions, there would be no discussion of what some might call 'policy.' I think if people honestly and carefully look at all the evidence, they will also support policy discussions.

In conclusion, ultrashort pulsed laser (USPL) filamentation investigated via femtosecond time-resolved optical polarigraphy (FTOP) rocks my world.

As someone who only posts very rarely in OT, here's what I've observed as a luker:

There have been posts from TEs in the Creationist sub-forum which have challenged their views. However, most of these appear to have been from people who aren't regulars in OT and so may not have been aware of the rules. Closing off the Creationist forum isn't going to stop this from happening.

There have been posts from the regular TEs that could be classified as debate, but these have either been as a result of getting a little carried away or not realising that the thread was in the Creationist forum. In all those cases, apologies were made, and there was certainly no attempt to deliberately break the rules.

So, while there has been a problem regarding TEs posting in the Creationist forum, it's nowhere near as bad as the YECs make it out to be. And as I've pointed out, closing off the forum probably isn't going to help that much.

As far as YECs posting in the TE forum, I've never seen any problems there. So I voted to remove the protocol.

Finally, if the YEC policy does remain in place, can somebody please fix the typo?
The following theories are considered "Creationist" for the purpose of this forum:

Young Earth Creationism
Old Eerth Creationism
Gap Theory
Day Age Creationism

However, when some people are faced with this so called evidence, they might fall asleep.

I vote to lift the ban.
