The Baal thing is annoying, but as a friend once said to me: why are we so mad at pagans being pagans? Their small victories here and there--getting stuff in cities, etc.--will mean little, ultimately. Also, we'd arrest them if they did what Baal worshipper did.

The Baal thing is annoying, but as a friend once said to me: why are we so mad at pagans being pagans?

There are some battles worth fighting.

Their small victories here and there--getting stuff in cities, etc.--will mean little, ultimately. Also, we'd arrest them if they did what Baal worshiper did.

I made no claim if these archways had been constructed people would be dancing around them while engaging in ritual sacrifice. The issue was what they represented as symbols. That, and the timing of the events.

As for pagan victories meaning little, I disagree. There is an agenda being advanced, and the promotion of that agenda is only being heightened:

Satanic Temple Holds First State-Sanctioned Ceremony at Michigan State Capitol

"Just in time for Christmas, The Satanic Temple of Detroit held a Satanic ceremony on the steps of the state Capitol in Lansing, Michigan on December 19, 2015. Members dressed in black held black and white American flags. The group has posted a video of the event on YouTube, and a transcript can be found here.

The speech began with, “Hail comrades. Hail sisters and brothers. Hail Satan.”

“We are gathered here to celebrate the spirit of humanity and the dawn of a New American Era…”

The dawn of a New American Era, words embedded with a clear call to arms. The event was...hosted...by Jex Blackmore (a name reminiscent of Zev Bellringer), the local directer of the Satanic Temple in Detroit. Her 'new American era' mantra is a constant staple of current satanist dogma. As is, of course, blaming Christianity for perceived social evil. From WRN:

SATANIC TEMPLE PERFORMS ITS FIRST PUBLIC CEREMONY AT MICHIGAN STATE CAPITOL

"THE SATANIC TEMPLE HELD IT’S FIRST STATE-SANCTIONED CEREMONY."

“The word of god has been evoked time and time again to justify opposition to the civil rights movement, to squash women’s liberation, and stand in the way of same-sex marriage. This is not ‘religious freedom.’ The inclusion of all is not oppression and the voices of the minority are not without value… These so-called ‘godly’ institutions call themselves a victim and call for radicalization – they are a snare upon our hooves. America is not an instrument of any one religious group.”

Video of the event:

The imagery here is stark. The prominent placement of six people, all dressed in black, holding the American flag is striking.

templedetroit_zps7yqomjux.jpg

Let me rephrase that. If it were not for what these people truly represent I would find this image a bit humorous. I suppose in one sense these guys are attempting to appear intimidating, to posture forcefully. Tremble before us, mere mortals...but opposed to posturing which evokes either fear or respect they look more like jack-booted My Little Pony fans. Still, the scene is carefully crafted, and represents the physical manifestation of the spiritual warfare.

Blackmore's speech is rife with propaganda but does serve to reveal the inherent lie of satanist dogma. From FOX News:

"In a videotaped interview with the Lansing State Journal, Satanic Temple spokeswoman Jex Blackmore said her group doesn't worship Satan but does promote individuality, compassion and views that differ from Christian and conservative beliefs."

Certainly they express views which differ from most Christians and Conservatives. The lie is the denial of satan worship. If Blackmore and company did not worship satan as a deity they would be chanting "Hail Me!" instead of repetitive refrains honoring the father of all lies. The difference between a traditional satanist, also known of as a theistic satanist, and a modern satanist is best measured by the time it takes the latter to lie about it.

Like I said, there are certain battles worth fighting. The light of the truth should be prominent in this fight, as those with any desire to live in the world of pagans, of satanist, should first know where it leads.

I know a lot of Christians here in this thread and other threads do not appear to believe in demonic activity, but here's the thing about the Baal Arches being put up:

They attract demonic activity. We have enough of it in the world as it is, but do we really need to add more? Do we really need people getting sucked in to that kind of sick and perverse demonic worship?

We should be wanting to spread the Gospel and all that is good and holy, and this Temple... or rather archway... is just the opposite of that. It is a vile, wicked and wretched thing that doesn't belong anywhere on or in God's creation. A good strong mature Christian is not likely to be affected, but what about all of those people who don't know Christ, or newbies in the faith? I can't say I enjoy the thoughts of more demonic activity being summoned to NYC or London with the millions of people who live there, many of whom don't believe in, or would want to follow, Satan or his demons in the first place.

But again, most Christians don't believe that demons (and angels!) are at work in the world today. This is how Satan can easily steal so many souls right out from under our noses, because most Christians are content to just going to church once or twice a week and the rest of their week is spent chasing after worldly pleasures. We're all guilty in indulging in the world and its pleasures to some degree, but some people think that God only exists on Wednesday Night or Sunday Morning or what-not, and they don't bat an eye at all of the evil that goes on all around us.

Satan's people, however, are quite active and they are doing everything they can to make sure people don't come to Christ. They try to get laws changed that are anti-God and anti-Christ, they make their presence loud and clear, they appeal to our young children in various ways, desensitizing them to violence and sex and other immorality, trying to get them to think that such behavior is "OK" because "everybody does it".

And what are so-called "Christians" doing about it? They just sit back and go "It's just an arch, it ain't gonna hurt nobody."

One arch in NYC.... then another in another city, and another, and another. Who knows, if this was left alone, the arches could possibly out-number the churches. Maybe you'd see other satanic statues, buildings, etc in other places too.

What, then? Is it still "oh, its just one statue here and there...."?

When do we Christians get off our butts, stand up and say "NO. We don't want this. It's evil and it doesn't belong here."? When do we Christians get off our butts and actually start praying against this kind of stuff? When do we stop just going with the flow, and actually stand against the evils in our society?

But no, we have Churches that are preaching "Acceptance". Evil is OK, everybody should just hug one another and turn a blind eye to sin and sinful lusts and activities. That lady heading down to the abortion clinic? She's just misunderstood, right? That guy who's sitting in front of his computer watching porn 18 hours a day, well, nobody else sees it, right?

We need to call sin what it is, and stop sugar-coating it or covering our eyes so we don't see it.

Let's see: 2 Baal arches, 1 in America, 1 in England. As opposed to over 300,000 churches here in America alone. If my math is correct it kind of looks like there's not much to worry about here.

That's right now. I've read articles where 1000 more are planned in various places, though there isn't much evidence to back it up, just yet but it would make sense if they would want more of these built elsewhere.

It won't catch on. If these people are explicitly anti-Christian they probably will just be a fringe group.

Won't catch on? We have members of the temple of satan on the courthouse steps, the courthouse steps, of the state capital, proselytizing their hatred of Christianity and you don't think this will catch on? What needs to happen for the threat posed by their agenda to be taken seriously?

I understand in the long run satan and his minions have already lost the war, but we live in the here and now. And in the here and now it appears the war is being waged by one side taking its mission seriously and advancing on all fronts while the other side acts as if they are watching a cartoon.

This. So very much this.

And even if Satan and his demons can't hurt us, they're still reaching young children by the masses with their subtlety. Satan only needs to turn someone away from Christ. I heard a story once, of someone who had a dream about Christ. It goes something like this:

This guy dreamt that he was sitting on a fence and this fence separated two groups of people. There were two portals at the end, and on the right side, there were just a few people walking into a brightly golden glowing portal that Jesus was standing next to. The other side of the fence had a demon standing next to a red portal and there were many, many, many people.

Satan appears and beckons the guy to come down off the fence, and the guy says "I never believed in Christ, but yet I don't believe in you either, so I'm on the fence."

Satan then replies: "Oh, but I own the fence. You're one of mine."

You don't have to believe in Satan to go to Hell. Satan achieves his goal just by getting anyone to believe in anything but Christ and the Cross. In fact, Satan wins anytime he can get someone to believe in free grace without repentance.

You have all kinds of immorality being taught to our kids and teenagers and young adults, they're out there engaging in all kinds of sexual immorality, violence in media, and most "Christians" sit back and do absolutely nothing. They've grown cold, lax and lazy. They don't speak out about the evils in the younger culture, especially the internet which is a huge breeding ground of evil. Nearly anybody that frequents the internet knows how much vile wickedness can be found on it, mostly in the form of pornography.

And again, while Satan is pulling souls into Hell by the thousands, Christians are barely doing anything in response. And anytime someone like me or the one I quoted try to speak out against it, we get told by other "Christians" that everything is fine, that there's nothing to be concerned about.

You only need to look at my signature. We've grown lax, cold, and lazy. "Christians" don't care about the unsaved these days, at least the vast majority of them don't seem to. We'll do an altar call at our churches, but other than that... they can't be bothered to try to reach the unsaved.

Christ died for these people, He shed His blood for these people. Do these "Christians" think that they are something special, that they get a special pass into Heaven, and the unsaved do not? When He allowed Himself to be nailed to that Cross, He did so for every single person who has ever lived, and He only requires a few things on our part, namely repentance and belief.

It just sickens me to see so-called Christians just letting things happen and not doing anything about it, or not even trying. But worst yet, what REALLY makes me sick, is Christians sitting on the fence and even going so far as to speak against efforts of fellow Christians who DO try to fight against it. It's one thing to be lax and sit on the fence and do absolutely nothing, it's another thing to actually hinder those who do have the wherewithal to actually try to stand against evil.

Just how low can our societies sink?

http://www.breakingisraelnews.com/6...just-time-ancient-pagan-festival-middle-east/

A replica of the famous arch that was destroyed by ISIS in Palmyra just recently arrived at London, just in time for some pagan rituals around the 19th of April.

And another will be raised in NYC this coming Fall.

We have a president that puts his stamp of approval on sodomy and sodomite marriage, who endorses false worship through Islam, and now we're planning to build a pagan altar (as if the Baphomet statue wasn't bad enough!) in the middle of our largest city.

Just how much more can we spit in God's Holy face and expect Him to just sit on His throne and not do anything about it? How much longer do we think that He is just going to let this filthy wickedness continue?

How much longer are "Christians" going to sit around and do absolutely nothing about it in the name of "Free Speech"? There are ways that we can react to this, in a holy manner:

1). Repent (for our own sins and theirs), and pray for the poor misguided souls who would think to do such evil.
2). Write letters to lawmakers and NYC's mayor.
3). Stand up and speak out against it.

We can at least do that much instead of sitting by idly while evil goes on around us.

Winston Churchill (probably quoting somebody else) once said "All it takes for evil to thrive, is for good men to do nothing."
Personally I try not to get worried or worked up over this stuff because I find it to be a waist of time.

Are you saying bringing that here is wickedness?

What's worse is we let people like ISIS destroy ancient things. I cried a little when I found out they destroyed an ancient landmark.

But as Christians, our faith is strong and can't be shaken by Satanists or any other group. We do care about the unsaved and I can understand the concerns. But even if there were no Satanists, no pornography, and a media that only presented Christian values, we would still have sinners. We'd still have wickedness and rebellion. It would just be more hidden, under the guise of being a good Christian. We are called to live in a world of sin and engage people where we can to show them what Christ has done for us.

I seriously doubt that. These things can't be cheap to make and I don't see why they would bother making so many.

Hey, a crappy little victory for tulc, he who is without sin and would never make a mistake. Yeah, the group on the steps was from Detroit, but they were in Lansing. But again you would never be guilty of such a human error and none of us are worthy to be in your presence. Emoticon emoticon tap chest twice wink and point smiley face.

Personally I try not to get worried or worked up over this stuff because I find it to be a waist of time.

Are you saying bringing that here is wickedness?

Bringing what here, that archway? Very much so. It is a vile, disgusting, and perverse thing that should never have been built in the first place.

What's worse is we let people like ISIS destroy ancient things. I cried a little when I found out they destroyed an ancient landmark.

I don't know about other "landmarks", but that archway needed to be destroyed and it should have been left like that.

But as Christians, our faith is strong and can't be shaken by Satanists or any other group. We do care about the unsaved and I can understand the concerns.

You say that, and then go on to say...

So what you're saying, is that it is OK to pile even more vile and disgusting sins ontop of the innate sin that was already there? You're somehow OK with that? "Oh, who cares about the porn, we'd still have kids talking back to their parents even without it anyways?"

That's like saying "Who cares about heroin on the streets, we'd still have weed floating around anyways" or something.

I just do not understand this attitude of people who turn a blind eye to sin because "it's everywhere anyways".

So I see facts really weren't of any interest in the post.
tulc(will try and remember that in the future) :sorry:

As an amature historian I find value in old things from dead civilizations it's how people learn. It shows architecture of those people and is valuable for many reasons. Not everyone feels the same way about it being a bad thing. I honestly don't care about it coming to the USA. It seems like people will go nuts over the smallest things these days. They worry about the little things. There are worse things going on right now trust me.

Perhaps people turn a blind eye as some say because honestly does anyone need more stress right now?
