I can't physically go to the washroom when people are actually in there. My muscles just don't work, so then I sit there forever, waiting for people to leave. Then if someone else is in there, being quiet, too, I start to panic and it never goes well.

I'm seriously considering to become a monk as I've felt called by God for several years already.

I guess this qualities as somewhat surprisingly as I've never mentioned this in any of my previous post at CF.

And oh yes one more thing, could you add me in your prayers as this is heavy stuff to eventually inform my family about.

I have been pretty open here about my quirks.

Like my friend pdudgeon, I mostly walk with a cane due to a crushed ankle years ago.
Unlike most of the posters here so far, I care nothing at all for sports or sports teams.
I drink more than I should.
I haven't had a cigarette in twenty eight days

I have a fear of high ceilings.

I'm also a twin, which...I guess isn't really that unique.

I'm gay, though that's perhaps not surprising to the regulars here at this point.

Not really much more to say unless mundane mildly interesting but not unique or surprising stuff is on the menu.
Such as "I'm a bit short for a British male at roughly 166CM tall(5 foot 5 and a bit inches)."

Or more personal stuff, which while I'm fine talking about, may kill the whole light-hearted vibe.

I've felt an urge to serve God in prayer for about four years now (even though I converted last Easternight).
It is a combination of a several different factors I guess, on one hand I'm suited for that lifestyle as I've never been successful on other areas of my life (at least allover) and struggle to fit in at the secular world.

I'm not called to marriage that I'm nearly certain about.
To be frank I don't think I would've been easy to live with for any potential wife either as I'm quite melancholic.
Of course I have attributes that could work to my advantage or as an plus in a marriage, but as I said I don't feel called to Marriage one second.

It may look a bit like I'm seeking a way of hiding from the secular world and I admit that it's like it in some sence..
I think that God works every of his servants differently and in some cases like my own I suspect that doors are being closed as a part of a prosess to lead people where he need them or at least wants them to serve him.

I need purpose in my life and I feel that living a life in prayer is of great importance of the world.
More than ever is the need for prayers and for strong orders to fulfil the mission of Christ to go out and spread the Gospel and pray for the world.

I also know that the Holy Orders need young people to take over the heritage.
Most of the orders are struggling with recruitment and are in real danger of ceasing to exist.

Am I reading to much of my own desires into this so called desernment prosess of mine? Maybe.
But most importantly I feel a strong encouragement and consilation from God both in prayer and through dreams.

I don't know, I guess there is a reason as for why the Ciesterciensers operates with a 5 year novice period before making eternal vows

Also I've been told to wait for at least one more year as it's mandatory for converts to hold of Religious life and orders until the so called convert-romantic era is over.

Well as I said please keep my in your prayers

I do hope you are able to discern where God wants you and are able to follow that.

When I was in grammar school I wanted to be a missionary.

One of my mother's distant cousins was Bishop Francis X Ford, a Maryknoll missionary, and the first American missionary to be martyred in Communist China.

My mother and grandparents were at his ordination, and in my house he was considered a saint. The cause for his canonizaation has begun.

Many liberal causes are fully compatible with Christianity: just wages and working conditions, social and workplace equality for sex and race, environmentalism (which should be a conservative value, but for some reason isn't), social safety nets, etc.

Several modern liberal values are incompatible with Christianity, but that is true of modern conservatism too. It's why I'm a independent.

Which brings me to another fun fact about myself: I'm not as liberal as I may appear by my posting here. It's just when compared to some of the hard right stuff that gets posted here and in AP, I look Left by comparison.

There are different forms of American conservativism. Two main divisions are between fiscal conservatives and social conservatives. Then there are different degrees within each of those. There's also the division between the traditional GOP candidates and Tea Party candidates, and they often have harsh words to say about each other. It's not as uniform as American liberalism is. Conservatives often disagree with each other on various topics. For example, there are different opinions among conservatives on immigration or on Syria and Russia. The uniformity of the American liberals vs the division among conservatives is why the liberals won the last two POTUS elections.
