(he texted he'd be late coming home due to mtg)

......as he started telling me all the new stuff going on at work
he's usually not that talkative, so it felt nice that he shared with me especially since he rarely likes to talk about work at all

also our child didn't know what to do 15 min before bedtime so I said "tell me a story"

am glad I said that as kid was talkative, too!

I think you're right. He just shows up to say how wonderful winter is and then disappears again.
