Jilly is on my mind, please pray for this family and their little girl. I do not know them personally.

We need to believe that Jilly can come through this, God is able. Jilly is no longer having her Fontan surgery today... once the surgeon opened her up... he realized that the Aorta is way more enlarged than he ever imagined. He feels if he did the fontan now... it would fail, do to being compressed by this Aorta... there is NO fixing it, only replacing it...
Thank the Lord, that is possible to do... It has never been done under these circumstances... all the surgeons talked with all others everywhere... Never opened up for a Fontan, then turned into a Aorta replacement... Dr. Gaynor has replaced a couple Aorta's for other reasons... successfully!!!
So, Jilly is having her Aorta replaced with artificial material... (not gortex)... the whole entire thing is being replaced all the way to the valve... the risks are extra bleeding issues, higher risk of stroke and they reminded us that Jilly already has a higher risk being that she has had a stroke, and this makes that risk even worse during surgery or shortly after, and risk of damage to the valve... if that happens, they are prepared to replace the valve today too! Sadly, this means that she will be having the Fontan another day... cannot be done along with the Aorta surgery. They feel we can wait a year with how she has been doing but could do it as early as 3months if needed... they prefer a yr., because it is easier to get through the scar tissue later, rather than sooner!!!
There was no choice in this matter... but Dr. Gaynor chose to come out and tell us himself... Jilly was not on bypass yet and 100% stable under sedation at the time!
God knows this plan, I believe he has so many plans for Jilly to continue blessing this world with her presence as an example of God's love!
I will update as I learn more.... pray!!!
UPDATE FROM A SECOND AGO:
