Teething rings

I was out to dinner the other evening and had a momentary lapse in what teething utensils were called, so I reffered to them as chew toys. My wife did not find the reference as humorous as I did, and now all the dog toys are kept well away from the baby.

Oh well, I thought it was funny at the time.

DH used to call our son's pacifier his plug. I hated it. Men are so insensitve.

Haha, that's quite funny. None of the kids I've watched liked them, okay one did but she also only drank formula at fridge temperature.

hehehe I call them chew toys all the time, and in a couple of abby's toys there are squeakers and I call them "squeaky toys" so I mean if you think about it, we are generally buying the same toys for our babies that we buy for our dogs

Even now Andie will go to Zoe's (that's our dog) toy basket to pick out some of her toys to "put to bed" with Andie's stuffed animals, dolls, etc....

DH used to call our son's pacifier his plug. I hated it. Men are so insensitve.

My husband STILL does this ... of course, he also STILL calls the teething rings chew toys! Why am I not surprized

BTW men arent the only ones who use the word Plug..my sil was just calling my nefews paci a plug the other day..i dont like that term either..its like "plugging the baby up"..or "shutting him up" which is not what the intention to do is!

So is pacifier better? 'go pacify the baby'.

Meeting needs would be my goal. (and giving something to suck on is needed for a bottle fed baby, they get the milk out of the bottle too fast and have no option to suck on an empty bottle, which nature is telling them to do, to convince mom to make more to meet the growing needs of the baby)

It's hilarious. I can't find the right words for things anymore and end up describing things. I'd be doing good to come up with chew toy.
