technology

what do you think of the technology portrayed in anime? especially in animes of the future genre. Do you ever wonder, as some anime fans do, whether the technology depicted is realistic or not? does it prevent you from enjoying the anime?

to me.. nah.. i'm not the science type, so i don't usually get so picky, but i do think it's unreasonable for a gundam to get zero damages all the time..

The technology is generally highly unrealistic, unless the realism of the technology is part of the theme.

I thought the technology in Cowboy Bebop was more, or less, realistic..compared to other things.

If I couldn't have elite ninja skills, then I'd want my own personal mecha to... I dunno, fly around town. And save the world or something.

But actually, Gundam's technology kinda makes sense, especially as they refine the ideas. Except like Gundam Wing and stuff. That series' technology makes no sense...

In Chobits, I especially like the little.. oh I forget what they are called... Persocoms! That's it! Those were really cool. They are like robot computers that do whatever you tell them. They are so cool, and it makes me wonder if something like that is possible in the future.

I found Gundam to actually be a more realistic future. The styles of technology, and the expression of it, and even the type of technology, were all evolutions of things we already have.

think so, Puppy? the anime does express some good and bad issues about the possibility..
to replace human with a human like computerised brain... *shudder*

yeah, the techno in GW is too powerful.

*shrug* I dunno. I don't think too much of it Blessed-One. I thought they were just made out of computer parts and whatnot. Not humans.

In most animes... well all that I can think of... I do not think the technology depictid is realistic (well, not when I try to seriously think about it). But then again I really don't care. As long as the story is good they can mess around with anything they want .

yeah, but regarding Chi, the anime is saying that it is possible for a computer to think and feel like a human, right? and apparently, all the people like computers look absolutely humanish from the outside.

guess so, Saint Mark.. but some radical ideas are worth thinking of.
