Paul looked at our minds, as though they were a stronghold of the devil, a fortress to be torn down.
It is extremely important how we think, because the way we think will evidently direct our actions.
It seems to me this day and time; we take it too lightly the power the devil has. And how the devil gets control of our minds through deception.
Some just do not want to believe there are evil spirits in this world. Nevertheless, whether a person believes it or not does make them disappear.
Even so, the good news is no matter how powerful of a fortress the devil has built through deception, the fortress can be brought down.
We can tear the fortress down through the Holy Spirit. We cannot do it with our human or fleshly thinking; it is through the power of the Holy Spirit.
In 2 Corinthians 10:4 Paul said our weapons are not carnal (human) but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.
Paul says it is a war, not a cake walk. It is a military expedition, and we need a commander to lead us unto into this battle. That commander is the Lord Jesus through the Holy Spirit.
It is the Holy Spirit that will lead us into the battle and let us know where the old devil is playing havoc in our minds. It is the Holy Spirit that will give us victory. We can defeat everything that is in our mind that is against the knowledge of God and the Christians faith.
Jesus said in John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
If there is anything in our minds keeping us from having the life that God desires for us to have, it is a stronghold that needs torn down.
We do not beat at the air guessing what to war against. The Holy Spirit will show us the stronghold the devil may have in the mind. If we are not having the abundantly life the Lord wants us to have, we need to know what it is that is keeping us from having it.
If we seek God in prayer to find out, He will let us know. And He will give us the power through the Holy Spirit to conquer the fortress with.
Tomorrow the Lord willing I will speak on what the abundant life is that He has promise us.
