  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My dad is an elder at the church I grew up in. Naturally, he has preached many lessons over the years, and one of the greatest challenges he says is reaching out to everyone. While away at college, I was introduced to a biblical software package, iLumina Gold. I was glad to share this software with my dad. iLumina's graphics and animation are top notch and easy to use in any powerpoint presentation. I have learned from my dad over the years that visuals can be some of the most powerful aids in any lesson. I am sure that iLumina will create captive audiences for my dad, for myself as I begin to help teach classes at the church I now attend and anyone else who needs a tool for their class. I hope this will be helpful to many teachers out there. And if you have additional suggestions for me as I begin to teach a Bible School class let me know. :)
