Teaching Morality

How would these be taught? Can an appreciation for virtue really be taught in a classroom? If you tell your students that hard work is a virtue, will they now enjoy their homework assignments?

Very good question. These are all noble pursuits, but I think they're taught through the observation of one's role models and through participation in that experiment we call life. They can't be learned by rote like important dates in history.

So, basically you are saying that it is obvious, and we do not need divine revelation, to know that there is only one God whom we shall have no other gods before, and that we should not bow to graven images; it is obvious from human experience? High five!

I think he was referring more to such moral commands as "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not steal."

Then too, you're assuming that the Bible is the correct source of moral authority, as opposed to the Tao Te Ching or the Koran or the Gospel of the FSM.

What is wrong with Karl Marx and his thought as distinct from Stalin and others the implemented Marx's Ideas?

A better argument for you to persue given the post you were replying to would have been to show a human culture that does not teach a form of morality. I think you cannot do that so I guess that is why you attack Lord_Marx

My user name isn't based on Karl Marx (nothing personal against the guy, but I disagree with a good many of his ideas), I named it after a fictional character in a video game 7 or so years ago and it stuck.
