Desi-- God is hardly a monkey. Considering the fact that we were created in HIS image, I do not believe that God evolved men out of monkeys.

People are not monkeys either... People are made of cells. Do you suggest you don't believe God is made of cells so people must not be made of cells? You cannot ignore the obvious without looking dumb. I do not care to look dumb to my children.

Well try the former head of UNESCO Aldus Huxley who was a strong proponant of Evolution. His was a classic fo-pau statement about why evolution became so popular so quick, when asked on Public TV he said "Well I supose it was becasue the idea of god interferes with our sexual morays." As for the many examples of presently living scientists proffessors check out the debate videos at drdino.com they are classics!

As I pointed out in that other thread, this quote is frequently trotted out by Creationists, but no-one can say when Huxley said this, on what programme, who to, or anything else.

Funny thing is, according to http://evolutionexamined.homestead.com/ it was Julian Huxley who said it - although, again, there is no corroboration.

I personally think it has been made up by someone.

I'll teach my sister that evolution is widely accepted, and that some believe Genesis to be a figurative story. I don't think I could bear teaching creationism as fact.
