Tea?

I met my cousin yesterday and we discovered a shared interest in non-builder's tea. I tried white tea for the first time, which was good but a shade strong because I make tea in a pot and she made it in the cup. I recommended to her green tea with coconut; my current favourite (Heath & Heather from Holland & Barrett), but I also like green tea with lemon.

What kind of tea do you prefer?

I've found an amazingly Anglican tea that is delicious: St Paul's, London English Breakfast Tea. So good. Merchies also made a special blend of three of HM Queen Elizabeth's favourite blends as a special Diamond Jubilee blend. Quite good. No 10 blend combines a few different flavours that were known favourites of several British Prime Ministers (hence the name, after No 10 Downing Street) which is absolutely fantastic. All three are black teas. All three are quite Anglican when you get right down to it!

Builders' tea for me. Milk in first. China cup.

Tea is wonderful.

For white tea I'm quite partial to rose or pomegranate, though I did recently try some white chocolate tea and it was rather delightful. A bit unusual at first, it had little pieces of white chocolate in and my tongue was at first slightly confused by the chocolatey presence in white tea but now I view of it as a bit of a naughty treat! I do not tend to drink much white tea though,

Other than good old builders tea, which is always a staple at work (plenty of milk, to the point where it's possibly just tea flavoured milk...), I am very fond of Spice Imperial from Whittard. It's just so warming, and tastes just as lovely whether it's hot or cold. I like spicy tea.

Then there are all the teas which are not really tea, such as cinnamon and ginger teas. Gosh they're lovely. Especially in winter, walking home to/from work and wondering if it's wise to drink and walk at the same time.

I just like (nearly) everything.

I will have to look out for those ones; I bet they are expensive though. : )

I suspect we all secretly like builders' tea best. Some of the time at least.

Definitely a bit of a premium price, but not entirely unreasonable or unaffordable! I was given a box of No 10 tea bags and some golden jubilee loose tea. The St Paul's breakfast tea is from another shop and was a giant tin of loose tea for abut $12. Quite reasonable. I'm lucky we've got lots of wonderful tea shops nearby other than just the major franchise ones.

Even expensive tea works out very cheap per drink.

A top rate single estate Darjeeling is very affordable if you calculate it.

I miss having a Whittards within walking distance.

Yes, there used to be one in St Albans, but that closed. I miss it.
